After the bell had rang, Ellie and Jane parted ways. Jane made her way to her next class, but Ellie stayed outside of the library.
Carlos and her had the next class together, so why not wait for him and then walk together to the art room?

A minute or so later, the vk's came out of the library, and when they saw Ellie, they all stopped.

"Do you need anything else, or?..." Mal asked her while giving her an annoyed look.

"Sorry, I just thought that Carlos and I could walk together since we have the same class now." Ellie glanced at the boy but then concentrated on their leader again.
Mal hummed and nodded slightly.
With a shake of her head, she signalled the rest of them to go on.

"Bye." Evie waved at her, and Ellie sent her a small smile.
Now that they were gone, it was just Ellie and Carlos.
They looked at each other for a moment.

"Soo, you wanna go?" Ellie asked and pointed at the hall. Carlos quickly nodded.
"Yeah."

The walk was a bit uncomfortable at first, but that changed when Ellie started talking.
"Uhm, do you...like arts?" she glanced at him.

"I don't know... I guess." Ellie nodded at his answer, but then he spoke up again.

"Back home, we used to...you know, spray paint our walls and the city." Ellie looked over at him.

"Really? Sounds fun." she smiled at him. Carlos sent her a shocked look. Ellie guessed that he didn't expect her answer.

"Yeah, it was." he smiled in her direction.
There was a short silence again. Ellie wasn't sure what to say, as she didn't want to trigger anything regarding the Isle.

"Well, art class will sure be not as fun, but maybe you could continue this hobby outside of school."
Ellie looked forward again and led them down another hallway. They were almost there, and Ellie realised - in slight horror - that she liked this conversation. Carlos seemed nice and not scary at all.
And even though they weren't talking much, she still enjoyed it because the conversation was calm, which Ellie liked.

"I guess." Carlos set his gaze on the ground before him.

"Tell me if you paint something. I would really like to see it." she glanced over to him and saw how he looked at her in amazement.
"Only, of course, if you feel comfortable with it." she reassured him.
"Really?"
"Really." Ellie's lips formed into a smile, and she noticed how a slight blush formed on his cheeks.
He was really cute.

Ellie took her seat in the art room and still cursed herself for thinking this way about a vk. Carlos meant nothing good, and it was just a matter of time until they did something that would send them back to the Isle.

But there was also this little tiny voice in her head that told her that the vk's weren't bad. They didn't have the best manners, but this could be excused by being raised on the Isle and having literal villains as parents.

Ellie shook her head a little. She should stop overthinking this whole situation. They were bad news, and she was just their babysitter for the first few days. Nothing more.

The students all sat in a circle around a bowl of fruit. After they learned all about the theoretics of  a still life, they now would paint one.
And so that all would be the same but also different, they would paint the same basket of fruit from different angles.

It's a bit boring, if you'd ask Ellie, but it's school. School shouldn't be fun. School is work. Even arts.

Reagan took the seat beside. She was Rapunzels daughter, and with that came an unmatched talent for arts. Ellie thought Reagan was nice, but they didn't really talk much. So, Ellie sent her a smile and then concentrated and the blank canvas before her.
