I wake the next morning with a stomach ache, laying in bed a few more minutes before getting out and heading to the bathroom.
It's Sunday and supposed to be a super chill day, I pull down my pants sitting on the toilet. When I look down I almost scream.
There in my panties, is blood. I started my period!
I almost start to cry. I quickly grab new panties and a pad, because tampons scare me, I put both on in a hurry before washing my hands and rushing out the door.
Running down the hall and down the stairs into the kitchen to find my sisters. There they sit, Gabby on the right Julie on the left.
I stand in the doorway jumping up and down. "What's up with you?" Gabby asks making everyone notice me.
"I GOT IT!" I yell, jumping up and down.
"Got what?" Julie asks, i sigh. "Mary!" Realization flashes in both their eyes, running to me.
We jump up and down for like forever, screaming excitedly. "What?" Matteo is the first to asks, but we just shrug taking a seat at the table. I can't stop smiling, I got it back, after 3 years of not having it.
"So what do you want to do today?" Enzo asks after dad and the oldest few brothers leave, leaving the younger kids to play.
"We could go out for lunch?" "And we could go swimming." "Or watch a movie." "We could play basketball."
Everyone spits out ideas all great, some better than others though. "How about we watch a movie then go out for lunch, go swimming and last play basketball." Julie try's the be the mediator like always.
"Sure. "Yeah" "Alright" We all get up heading to the theater before fighting over what movie, we spun a wheel and guess who won.
Me.
I chose 3 options for everyone to choose from, Pretty in pink, breakfast club or St. Elmo's fire. Breakfast club won the votes, mostly because it's the only one the boys knew. I tell you these guys are so uncultured.

It's been a few hours, since we started the movie, we had to pause a few times because Rome had to pee like every 10 minutes.
We all got in the car in our pajamas, none of us have changed since we woke up, we pull up to Freddy's to get steak burgers and custard.
"Guys let's go in, please." Gabby basically begs, I swear she wants to embarrass us. Rome, Matteo, Massimo, and Enzo are all in plaid pants and t shirts or hoodies. Julie is in a long sleeve floral set with a cream background and cute little blue flowers. Gabby has on an old ripped Bon Jovi t shirt and plaid shorts. And I have on a hoodie Marco gave me and plaid shorts.
As we walk in I feel really fucking stupid, but oh well. We order what we want, I get a bacon and cheese without onions, a dirt 'n worms custard, fries and fry sauce, they have THE BEST fries and fry sauce, swear on my life.
"Should we sit and eat or go?" Julie asks when we get our food. "Let's sit." Enzo says because he's driving. We all take seats in a large booth in the corner and start to eat.
"So you guys have really never Texas?" Gabby's is for some reason surprised. "No." "Y'all have been to literally every country but you haven't been to any other states?!" Ok that is kinda surprising. "We've been to Dc, and California, and Maine." "Those's are so random." I laugh taking another bite of my burger.
"We also went to Missouri." That only makes me laugh more. "That's even more random." "Well what states have you been to." Rome crosses his arms waiting for us to answer.
"Minnesota for family, New Mexico for school, New York for school, Hawaii." I gabby lists off, we haven't been many places Italy is the only place we've been out of the country.

We spent hours just hanging out at lunch, by the time we got home it was dark out. We decided not to play basketball but we still wanted to swim.
"Alright you guys ready?" I nod and we all walk down. The pool has the pool blue color with white lights on the sides, the floors and walls are both tiled, lounge chairs and art all around.
The window show the darkness outside and overall it looks really nice. We get in, the water being the perfect temperature.
I go under letting the water warm my body. Water has always been my safe space, I know I was a mermaid in my last life.

After spending almost 2 hours in the pool i get out and go to my room, tiring on the shower and hoping in. The hot water running down my body, the steam filling the room, I almost fall asleep in the shower.
After a while I get out and wrap the towel around me before getting dressed, I throw on a t shirt before climbing into bed.
Laying my head down on the soft pillow, I let the darkness take over, into a not so pleasant place.
