~Norman's POV~
Hm. That's what she's up to, then.
"It's okay, guys. We should hear her out."
Sister Krone smirked. "Yes. Norman is right. We should work together so we can both get what we want."
"What...we want?" Emma's grip around Gilda seemed to tighten ever so slightly.
"Right. You kids want to leave this place. And I want to fill in the Mom position. I want to push Isabella off of her pedestal and become Mother of this House."
"Mom position?" Don looked confused.
"I'm speaking the truth, you know. I also want to break away from my current situation." Sister Krone pull her collar away from her neck, showing us her I.D. number. 18684. "Do you know how the management system at Grace Field works?"
I slowly shook my head, and Emma was doing the same.
"Girls that don't get shipped out until the age of 12 and live up to certain conditions are given a choice. When she gets shipped out, she can either die like everyone else, or she can try and become a Mom."
"What are the conditions?"
"You have to get scores that are above a certain number, and you need Mom's recommendation. If you can meet these requirements, you are able to live without having to escape. If you're a girl. But I wouldn't exactly recommend that path." Sister Krone unbuttoned the first couple buttons of her uniform and revealed a scar on her chest. "The higher ups make it so you can't leave the area." Seeing our shocked faces, she quickly added on. "But you all still have a chance to escape."
"What is that...?" Emma looked like she was gonna be sick.
"It's a chip. If an adult steps outside of the boundaries, the chip will make her heart stop. And if something else makes her heart stop, the headquarters will be notified."
So we were right. We can't kill the adults.
"I'm only able to live on the farms. So naturally, I want to live here in the best way anyone can. I want to be a Mom, even if it's fake. Playing a game of house, surrounded children and love. But right now, Isabella is in the way. She needs to be removed. And if you five escape, she will be blamed. I won't make any attempts to stop you. Plus, you escaping will be beneficial to me as well."
"You won't ship us out? But we're the targets..." You could hear the uneasiness in Gilda's voice. I felt bad for her.
Krone nodded. "I won't. We should work together. In the end, we all have the same enemy. So we should cooperate to get rid of her."
It's not that she won't ship us out. It's that she can't. She has no evidence that goes against us. Mom is trusted by the higher ups more than Sister Krone is. She has to get close to us in order to obtain evidence.
~Sister Krone's POV~
I just have to get close to the five of them. That's how I'll get evidence. Once Isabella is gone, I'll ship out these god damn brats. After, I'll get to be Mom. That's what I'm truly after. But Norman may have already uncovered my intentions. Of course he would. It's very obvious.
~Norman's POV~
If she actually wanted us to escape, she wouldn't need to get close to us. She could just help us when the time is right. There isn't a to give us information. This is just so she can gain our trust. If she gets evidence from us, she'll ship us out almost immediately. Since Sister Krone failed with Gilda, she came to all of us. If she gets evidence, that's good for her. But if she doesn't, and we escape, Mom will still be removed. But we don't really have a choice, do we? If we don't accept her offer, she'll just get in the way.
