A/N: The story from here starts slow so bare with me for a bit, it helps build the world and character, I promise you it will be more interesting later on (wink wink)....this chapter contains homophobic slur at middle, just a heads up
Mason's PoV
I was standing in front of my full length mirror taming my unruly hair and fixing the cowlicks that stood on odd directions but they still stick out like sore thumb.
Sighing, I think I should go with a messy hair look that the ones those hot dudes on Pinterest can pull off, but not to be narcissist at all, I very much has the look that people gives second glances to.
With my strong chiseled jawline, dark brown hair and deep electric blue eyes I don't look that bad if I say so myself.
Still not bragging of course, girls would throw their selves to me left and right I have fair share of dates and hook ups, I mean who would not want to date with "the" Mason Sawyer, power forward varsity player of the Northon High, 3 time mvp of regional Basketball league.
Anyway I was getting off track, tonight, I and my friends are going to a club to check on the girl that my friend Kate's boyfriend supposedly cheated on.
Our Intel, aka Jessica, who went clubbing told Jamie our friend that she saw Carl (Kate's boyfriend) went to the club called Red Lotus with a girl.
Jamie then told Kate, and she told us that we should go and find out, me being the good friend that I am agreed, I mean Kate is like a little sister to me no one messes with my little sis and walks away scot-free.
My thoughts are snapped by a honk outside of the house, I check to see the time on my phone.
Tonight is Friday and it's 10 minutes past 9 pm, coincidentally a text from my best friend Jason pop up on my phone's screen saying that they are here.
I pocket my phone and put on my red button Up shirt leaving the first two unbuttoned.
I quickly put on my black jeans and tuck the bottom of my shirt inside and put on my shoes, with a last look on the mirror I went downstairs.
I scan the living room to check if my parents were awake. They were usually asleep by this hour, but if they caught me sneaking out in the middle of the night to go clubbing, I'd be grounded for sure.
Seeing that the coast was clear, I quietly made my way to the front door. Thank God my parents are heavy sleepers, I thought. Otherwise, I'd be screwed.
You might be wondering, Mason, why didn't you just sneak out through your bedroom window? Well, there's no way in hell I'm risking a climb down from the second floor with no trees nearby to help.
The stairs are much safer, and I'm definitely not desperate enough to tie a bunch of fabrics together to rappel down. Besides, that would just be an open invitation for thieves to break in. Just saying.
Although I lived in a relatively safe neighborhood you can never be too sure.
After locking the front door, of course not forgetting my spare key, I went to my best friend's car a Jaguar XE or something not really sure, and slid into the front seat.
"Thank God! what took so long, man?" Jason asks, clearly irritated, and face contorted with a frown.
"Chill dude, what put your panty in a twist? I'm sure as hell did not take that long" I shot back this dude needs to chill sometimes.
"Did you guys get our fake IDs?" I ask as I buckle my seat belt, we won't be able to get in without those, Jason started the engine and pull out off the curb.
