chapter twenty-six
Act

"Damon just told Derek off" Emily smiled as Hotch smirked. "Okay, everyone go home" he said, smile dropping. Everyone nodded.

The next morning when everyone walked into the police station. Damon was in a black t shirt, and tan dress pants, black belt and shoes. His mother's cross sitting comfortably on his shirt. His scars completely visible.

Everyone looked at him, some sympathy, others shock. Damon took a deep breath as he held his jacket. "It's church, I should dress correctly" he said, explaining his outfit even though he didn't need an explanation. "It's okay, you don't need to explain" Spencer smiled softly, looking the man's face. He had seen them before, in comfort of the hotel room, so he was strangely proud of Damon for wearing short sleeves even though he normally didn't.

"I can put my jacket on, if it's gonna be to distracting" Damon said, looking at everyone's looks. "Yeah actually-" JJ cut Derek off, "no, it's okay" she smiled warmly. Damon nodded, sitting down, feeling slightly self conscious, without having something cover his arms.

The scars painted his skin like stripes do a tiger, but his, he wasn't born with, he make theses marks in his skin, like a painting.

"So everyone knows what's happening today?" Hotch questioned as everyone nodded. "Okay, let's go" everyone got up, getting into the SUV's.

JJ, Spencer, Damon and Hotch were in one and then others were in the other car.

"You know Damon" he looked up as JJ started talking, Aaron had already started driving. "You should really wear short sleeves more often" she smiled as Damon looked down, a small smile on her face. "Maybe" he said back, rubbing his thumb over the scars on his skin. Spencer looked down at his hand motion. Rubbing Damon's arm to stop him from feeling self conscious. "You're okay" Spencer said as Damon nodded. He smiled when Spencer put his head on Damon's shoulder.

When they got to the church, Damon got out of the car, putting on his blazer and sighed. Watching the others put their ear pieces in, as Damon followed.

Walking into that church, Damon swallowed the lump in this throat, as he sat down next to his father. They didn't speak as the service began. No one did actually.

Getting up first, Damon let his father go ahead of him over to the coffee where he followed.

"I'm sorry for last time I was here. That was disrespectful of me." Damon said to Roman as his father nodded. "I expect your apology Damon" he said making his son nod. "So, why are you here?" Roman asked as Damon sighed. "Mom. They know it wasn't the officer" Damon didn't care that the rest of the team could hear him. "Well, that's alright" he said, pouring himself a coffee. "They know it was you" he said as Roman nodded again. "Where are your glasses?" He asked as Damon pulled them out of his pocket, putting them on. "Better" his father sighed. Damon nodded, his father always preferred him with glasses on in church, he always said it made him look more mature. More proper. Which Damon knew wasn't complete bullshit and he could see better with them on.
