From the day Abro helped Annie with her books in the library, he couldn't stop thinking about her. Every time he saw her around school, he found himself drawn to her, always ready to lend a hand. Whether it was picking up dropped books, carrying heavy bags, or opening a door, Abro was there, silently assisting and then walking away without further conversation.
One afternoon, Abro saw Annie trying to put up a poster for an upcoming event on the school bulletin board. He walked over and held the top of the poster while she pinned it in place. "Thanks," she said, glancing at him with curiosity. Abro just nodded and walked away, feeling the familiar flutter of nerves in his stomach.
Another time, he noticed her in the art room, struggling to move a large canvas. Without a word, he stepped in and helped her place it on the easel. Annie thanked him again, her expression thoughtful as he left, his heart pounding with the usual mix of excitement and embarrassment.
After several such encounters, Annie couldn't help but notice the pattern. It seemed too consistent to be mere coincidence. She began to wonder about the quiet first-year student who was always there to help her but never stayed to chat. She was cautious and curious about his motives.
