After the final bell rang, Abro made his way to the art room, where he knew Annie would be finishing up the mural they had started. He found her there, adding the final touches to the background. She looked up as he entered, her expression softening slightly.
"Hey," she said, wiping her hands on a rag. "Ready to help again?"
"Of course," Abro replied with a smile. "I wanted to ask you something, though."
"Sure," Annie said, giving him her full attention.
Abro hesitated for a moment, gathering his thoughts. "Yesterday, you said I was different from other people. Who are those other people, and what did you mean by that?"
Annie looked thoughtful, as if choosing her words carefully. "I guess I meant that most people don't go out of their way to help without expecting something in return. You seem... genuine. It's rare."
Abro felt a mixture of relief and curiosity. "Do you mean the people here at school, or...?"
"Everywhere," Annie said, her voice tinged with a hint of sadness. "At school, at the restaurant, in general. People usually have their own agendas."
Abro nodded, understanding a bit more about her guarded nature. "I see. Thanks for explaining."
They worked on the mural in silence for a while, the atmosphere between them more relaxed. Abro couldn't help but feel a shiver of excitement whenever Annie spoke, her calm demeanor and controlled manner captivating him even more. She seemed to move and speak with a grace that made time slow down, making every moment feel significant.
