so i've realised that y/n is basically kind of an oc (lol sorry!) but I'm changing the writing style so it's more of a reader-insert fic (present tense and 2nd person pov) so the reader feels more like y/n - hope you don't mind ≧◠‿◠≦
this chapter is filled with short scenes to set the scene and dynamics between y/n and different characters

Summer break has started and Karasuno has been practicing endlessly since their loss at the Interhigh Prelims.
However, 2 weeks ago Karasuno attended a mini-camp held by the Fukurodani Academy Group of schools. During the camp, a disagreement happened when Hinata wanted to do the quick attack with his eyes open.
Most of the team felt it was risky as the next tournament was only a month away, but you agreed with Hinata; that the team could develop even more.
Today, Karasuno is headed to the same camp in Tokyo, which will last a week. You're excited to attend a camp as a manager, but more importantly, you hope the freak-quick duo can reconcile. You witnessed their physical fight about their quick attack and you even had to find Tanaka to help break up the argument.
AT SHINZEN HIGH
Kiyoko's gentle nudge on your shoulder wakes you up from a gentle slumber. "Let's go bring the equipment in," She says. Half-asleep, you nod in response and robotically exit the bus.
As you ascend Shinzen High's tall stairway, a voice from behind calls you. "It's nice to see that you're here again."
You turn your head slightly to see the tall Nekoma captain two steps below where you are. "Kuroo, hey." You yawn out this sentence.
He seemingly laughs at your drowsiness and then picks up the strap of the volleyball bag off your shoulder. "Here, let me help."
The both of you continue walking up the steps, in silence, until you catch up with Daichi and Sugawara. "Hey." Kuroo greets them and they smile in return. "There's a lot of good schools here this week. You country bumpkin's prepared?" He teases your upperclassmen.
"Mm," Daichi puffs with motivation. "Don't worry we're ready for them."
"Anyone that's played at nationals?" You ask.
"Most have, you'll probably recognize 'em." Kuroo now knows that you used to play volleyball and why you stopped playing it. At the last camp, he was almost desperate to see you play the next time he saw you.
FIRST DAY OF PRACTICE
It's Karasuno's first match and they're losing. Their stats aren't as successful as usual but you know exactly why. They were all trying to perfect the new skills and strategies they'd learned since Inter High.
