Everyone's excited for the BBQ.
Some boys have been stuck to the grills as if their feet were glued to the ground. However, there were some boys who weren't too interested in eating until their stomachs burst—like Kenma and Tsukki, for example.
You and Mako have already finished eating so you both offer to cut some more vegetables for everyone. You can hear her sniffles and watch her wipe her tears as she cuts the onions.
"I can take over if you'd like?" You offer, but Mako's adamant to finish the job.
"No, no. It's fine I've only got 1 more onion to-" Mako stops her sentence and her chopping as she stares ahead. "Y/n, I think the Miya twins are coming this way." She lowers her voice to a whisper.
You look up from your chopping board to check - they are headed straight to you.
"They might talk to me and I look like a mess!" Mako's whisper turns into a whine, and it seems as if her onion-induced tears are turning into genuine weeping.
"It's fine. You're fine and you look fine. And stop hyping them up so much - that'll help calm you down." You reassure her.
Before she can reply, the twins arrive.
"Could we get more vegetables, please? Our grill has run out." Osamu asks. Atsumu stands next to him, avoiding eye contact with you so he just looks at the vegetables on the table instead.
"S-sure!" Mako says frantically as she offers a mountain of sliced onions. She clearly didn't take your advice and you smile to yourself as you go back to chopping and leave it to Mako to interact with the twins.
"Uh, thanks?" Osamu accepts the onion mountain hesitantly. "Oh and y/n, sorry about the other day - for disturbing your date."
Oh God. You hoped that he wouldn't bring that up.
"It's okay, honestly. Sorry you didn't get any tuna." You give him a small smile.
He bows then elbows Atsumu in the stomach before running back to the BBQ grills - leaving Atsumu, you, and Mako.
"Really?!" Atsumu turns to shout at his fleeing brother.
You're back to chopping, again - trying to ignore his presence, but you can tell he's now staring at you.
"Uh..." Mako stutters, as she senses the awkwardness. "I'm gonna go see if Eri wants some onions!" She too runs away.
Great. Now it's just you and the egotistical man-child.
"Listen, I'm sorry if I've not been nice this week." He breaks the ice.
"Not been nice? You've been a big dick every time I see you."
He snorts. "They say, you are what you hav-"
Your chopping gets louder to drown out whatever bullshit he was going to say.
"Look, I'm pretty busy. So leave me alone, please."
"D'ya accept my apology or not?"
You put down the knife, even though you'd prefer to threaten him with it.
"No, Atsumu. It's a pathetic attempt at an apology and it seems like your brother forced you to do it. Just leave me alone and avoid talking to me whenever you do see me."
"Wow, for someone who loves setters so much and even dates them, you don't like me very much?" He looks you in the eyes before he continues, "But if you had to be honest with yourself, who's the hottest? Me, Oikawa, or Tobio?"
