Chapter 29
Did I lose on purpose?
I'm not sure. My mind is a mess. If Ryzel finds out that I was distracted during our sparring, he'll surely think the worst of me. I mean, I didn't exactly create a good first impression to begin with.
What should I tell him then? That he smelt so good and he almost drove me crazy out there? How I attempted to get a whiff of his scent? Or how I wished that he had me on chokehold a little bit longer because the way his skin pressed on mine led to several sleepless nights?
Sure, Blue. If you want him to think of you as a creepy pervert. Rouge even looked at me funny because of it. Not only will Ryzel feel disgusted, I might break a bone or two, and that's him being merciful.
The last time I checked, he shot someone because someone tried to cop a feel. Fuck. If I had been there, I would make sure that he suffered before dying. How dare he try to force himself on Ryzel?
Anyway, although I was distracted, it does not mean that I didn't notice how strong he was. There's no doubt about it; he's the top agent, and it's not just a title.
Damn. He should stop being so perfect, on top of being the toughest and smartest agent there is. He's already attracting unwanted attention. I can only do so much. Does he know that almost half of the population here in HQ admires him?
Talk about having so many rivals. I won't give up, though.
Ryzel blinked and his cheeks warmed up at the unexpected entry. "Kisses. I'll give him a hundred kisses. Stupid Asúl for giving me butterflies," Ryzel muttered and bit his lower lip, stifling the foolish grin.
Well, it looks like Blue won't be holding his funeral for the foreseeable future.
Ryzel frowned when he read the next entry. He checked the date and it looked like Blue skipped a few days. Dread immediately filled him as he stared at the date; it was days after their major operation, and possibly, around the time Ryzel disappeared.
Ryzel immediately closed the journal with heaved breaths. He's not prepared to discover what Blue went through. Based on the narrative of Amelia, Rouge and Marcus, his disappearance did a number on Blue.
He already knew that, but discovering on his own how Blue suffered got Ryzel terrified. He swallowed hard and rubbed his chest, hoping to calm his racing heartbeat.
Tears pricked his eyes as he stared at the journal. A part of him wanted to put it back and be content with what he learned, but another part of him was curious. Although he knew that whatever Blue wrote there would hurt him, Ryzel believes that it's his responsibility to read it.
If he wants to be with Blue for a long, long time, he needs to understand what Blue went through. He needs to know the bad and the worst. Ryzel believes that he needs to learn how to take accountability for the things he did, even if he knew that his actions during that time was the best course he could think of.
"This is part of moving forward. I want to do good by him; Asúl deserves that," Ryzel realized and took a deep breath. With shaky fingers, he breathlessly re-opened the journal.
He read the entry.
Fuck. He left me. That's what they told me anyway.
Ryzel won't do that to me. We have been through so much. He can't... he'll be back. Maybe he needs to take care of something. I'll just wait for him.
