Chapter 22
In a simple shirt and white pants, Ryzel decided to take a walk and headed to the garden. In a few hours, he will be undergoing his last surgery, hopefully, and get over this shit. Blue informed Ryzel that he was just going to visit Edward in his clinic to talk about Ryzel's surgery.
"But can I walk around, Asúl? Please?"
Blue stared at Ryzel, wanting to say no, but exhaled in surrender and nodded. Ryzel's expression brightened and he wrapped his arms around Blue for a tight embrace. "Bring your phone and do not strain yourself. I'll be back as soon as possible, okay?"
Ryzel nodded and dropped a quick kiss on Blue's lips. Blue, being the softie that he is when it comes to Ryzel, melted and groaned, then buried his face on Ryzel's neck. "Just be careful, okay? Once this is over, we are going for a long vacation. I promise."
Ryzel smiled and rubbed Blue's nape. "Yes, Asúl. I'll take care of myself. If I feel dizzy, I'll call you immediately. And come on, we're in a hospital. There's no need to worry."
But Blue is worried. He will always worry, as long as he is not convinced that Ryzel is totally cured. Just two days ago, Ryzel's head throbbed in what seemed to be an excruciating pain. Blue was at a loss at what to do as Ryzel screamed and cried for painkillers. The doctors attended to Ryzel and they had to inject him a very potent drug just to calm him down.
A tear fell on Blue's cheek as he sat beside Ryzel's bed, holding his boyfriend's warm hands. Ryzel's breathing was steady but color is yet to return to his face.
"It's stress. That's the reason for the unexpected attack," Edward explained and examined Ryzel's vitals. "He must have been worried about the operation." Which is strange, even for Edward. This is not Ryzel's first rodeo.
"He never told me," Blue said softly, a hint of pain and helplessness in his voice. Blue will do anything for Ryzel. He will drive his demons away and assure him that there's nothing to be afraid of because he is not going anywhere; Blue will be with Ryzel every fucking second if that's what it takes to keep Ryzel's anxiety at bay.
Edward sighed and tapped Blue's shoulder. "He must have a reason, Blue. We can't blame Ryzel; he's too used to dealing with everything alone. But I'm happy that he's opening up to you. Just... stretch your patience. Let everything fall into place."
Blue nodded and pressed his lips on Ryzel's hand. "I'll be here, baby. Always."
Blue was snapped back to the present when a nurse came in, asking for Blue. "Mr. Winters, Dr. Edward requests your presence."
"I'll be right there in a minute," Blue replied and lifted his head to look at Ryzel. "Don't tire yourself out, okay?"
"I promise, Asúl. I'll be good. Go on, Eddie's waiting."
Ryzel was about to sit on the vacant bench when he saw an older lady wobbling. Ryzel ran to assist her and helped her take a seat. "Ma'am, are you okay? I'll call a doctor-"
"No, I'm fine," she replied and held Ryzel's arms to stop him. When she looked up, she had to blink to make sure that her eyes are not fooling her. What a gorgeous man. This is the first time he saw a man with silver hair paired with a set of lavender eyes.
"Ma'am?" Ryzel called her attention when she stared at Ryzel in awe.
She blinked and chuckled, a bit embarrassed. "Oh, I'm sorry, dear. I have never seen someone as beautiful as you."
Ryzel was surprised at the compliment, but he smiled and sat beside her. "Thanks. How are you feeling?"
"I'm fine now. I just had a dizzy spell. You know, I am not getting any younger," she added and chuckled lightly.
