Edward stopped on his tracks, blinked, then chuckled as he was about to close the door. "My eyes are playing me," he muttered and nodded, then checked if he had entered the wrong room. Weird. This is my office. Then...

Edward swung the door open so fast that he almost tripped. Ryzel frowned, his hand caressing Blue's nape, while Blue remained unfazed by Edward as he played with Ryzel's fingers, a stupid grin on his lips. Blue was leaning on Ryzel's shoulder. "I must be transported to a new planet. Maybe, a new universe? Yeah. That must be it." Edward laughed and nodded, making Ryzel frown even deeper.

"Stop talking to yourself and come in, Eddie. This is not the time to act like a lunatic," Ryzel said in a nonchalant tone, not really minding that Edward saw them acting intimately.

For Edward who knows that Ryzel hates being touched, the man is very comfortable with Blue stroking his fingers. Edward's shock is therefore justified. "Well, I apologize for having a normal reaction. I did not expect that the both of you would be so close while I was not around. Did a decade pass us by, or am I just hallucinating?"

It was Blue who answered Edward's question. "Ryzel likes me," Blue said without looking at Edward, enjoying the feeling of Ryzel's touch.

Edward froze. He glanced at Ryzel who was now whispering something in Blue's ears that made the latter blush like a virgin. Oh fuck. I must be dreaming right now. "I need another cup of coffee," Edward mumbled, and left the room.

When Edward came back, Blue and Ryzel were still stuck to each other, so he was not dreaming. Having gotten over the initial shock of Blue and Ryzel being together, Edward cleared his throat to catch the attention of the two.

"I'm sorry for shocking you," Blue said and sat straight.

"Same, but your expression was hilarious, Edward. If you're not my friend, I would have been insulted," Ryzel added, a small smirk on his face.

Edward just rolled his eyes. He's just grateful that Ryzel can now joke around. "We're living in the same house but I always miss the important scenes. Anyway, I just received the result of your last medical exam."

Blue tensed slightly, but when Ryzel held his hand, Blue relaxed. "We need some good news, Eddie." Ryzel looked at Edward in anticipation, and Edward did not disappoint him.

"Your results are looking good. We can schedule your operation next week. The medicine has been working and some of your tumors have disappeared. Once we remove all of your tumors, you can begin your recovery. Congrats, Ryzel. I'm so proud of you."

Ryzel did not know what to say. He was expecting some good news, but hearing from Edward's lips that he's going to be cured, he just couldn't control his emotions as he released a choked sob. "Fuck." Ryzel's tears fell uncontrollably while he was laughing and sobbing at the same time, in total disbelief, the heels of his palm pressing on his eyelids. Blue wrapped his arm around Ryzel and comforted the man.

Several weeks ago, Ryzel lost all hope. Never in his dreams did he hope that he would get better. Every single day was a cycle of pain and nightmares. Living proved to be a chore. Breathing in itself was exhausting. Ryzel got it all figured out and everything was settled. He made a will to make sure that his estate would be distributed properly. If he did not meet Blue that night, he planned to take his life the next day.

Everything was laid out perfectly, until Blue. As always, he ruined Ryzel's plan. He just appeared and brought light into Ryzel's dark world, just like before. He served as Ryzel's beacon in that abyss until Ryzel finally got out. Blue was Ryzel's north star. From then until now, it was always Blue who reached out to Ryzel when he was drowning, and Blue doesn't even know how much he has saved Ryzel.
