A Wierd Note Pt.2
The members were now seated in the living room; a few watching the television and a few on their phones. An hour passed by when the quiet atmosphere was disturbed by Mark, who came up with the idea of playing video games making Travis, Jake, Petra and Helios the only ones to agree.
The others, excluding these five, groaned at the idea, knowing that the following few hours would be complete chaos, but didn't oppose it. Selina sat there watching them have fun for some time before she got up and went to her room saying she would nap. Samuel watched them be noisy and have fun, while Jane spoke to Nick about the meeting.
She asked him how the meeting had gone and what else had happened to which he replied that the meeting was successful, and they had signed a deal with Maple Garcia, one of the leading textile companies.
She sighed in relief when she heard that her company got the deal and gave him a genuine smile, conveying her thanks. She then leaned back on the couch and closed her eyes, relaxing her posture. She was in the same position for a few minutes before she suddenly opened her eyes and hurriedly turned towards Nick and spoke to him in a tone filled with urgency.
“I need your help with something. It's related to our sudden visit to uncle this morning.” This made him look at her curiously. She then handed him a paper, asking him to read it. He took it from her and read its content.
“A poem? Where did you get this from Jane?” he spoke after he finished reading and looked at her.
“I didn't find it. It was Uncle. He found this pinned on the information board in his cabin. No one knows where this came from or who the sender is. And upon that, the CCTV footage from 5:30 to 5:45 was deleted” She pauses for a minute before continuing
“Turn the paper around and read what's behind it.” He found it suspicious when she mentioned the CCTV being deleted, then turned the paper around as she said, and read what was written.
“Wow, what's this now? The sender tried being anonymous but they still left a signature behind. That's pretty dumb if you ask me.”
“Well, it is. God knows what that person was thinking when they did this. Anyway, could you try to interpret this poem and try to find any clues? It doesn't matter if it's a small one.”
“Sure. I'll start within an hour after I'm done with my work. I'll get going then.” He glanced at her and the others for a second and left for his room after he saw her nod at him.Nick's Room:
Nick opened the door and stepped inside with a small sigh. He sat on the chair situated at his desktop and looked outside the window. The tranquility of nature, from its rustling leaves to the birdsong, was his therapy.
He arched his back and stretched his arms above his head. Retrieving a book from the desk's edge, he began planning his book launch and fan signing events. As soon as he was done with it, he reviewed the note given by Jane again before picking up another book, meticulously noting details from the sender's signature to the poem's meaning. He was engrossed in the work, trying to find as many clues as he could.
Half an hour later, having jotted down his thoughts, he reread his notes, and a sudden realization struck him.
'The Royal Gallery? It feels like I've heard something about it.'
He pondered for a minute, remembering that he had heard about it on his way back from Jane's company. The poem's meaning and the sender's intention finally became clear to him. He immediately took out his phone and texted Jane that he had found some clues. Jane replied, asking him to meet her and Sam when everyone was asleep.(Note - The lines written in *'Italics'* form describe the character's thoughts)
