Liene (story)

Mousie invited that fox over again. No matter how many times I tell her not to. I'm gonna talk to her about it once the fox leaves, try not to get mad at her. I just... don't like being reminded of that stupid moth everytime I see that fox.

Liene closed his journal and picked up his sketchpad, doodling a bit while listening for the door to open and close, signalling that the fox had left. It took a bit, but it did happen. He sighed and walked downstairs, seeing Jade in the kitchen still, sipping the lemonade he made earlier that week and staring at him. There was silence...

"You're gonna yell at me again."
"I'm not gonna yell at you, I'm gonna talk to you." Jade raised an eyebrow, putting the glass down on the counter. "Oh? About what?" Liene sighed, putting a hand on his hip.
"The fox."
"You're gonna yell at me." He huffed, before taking a breath to calm down.
"I'm not yelling. I just wanna talk about you possibly hanging out elsewhere." He stated calmly.
"Where would we hang out then?" Jade asked, leaning against the counter and crossing her arms. Liene could tell it was going to be difficult by her standards to get them to not invite the fox over. He thought about it, before mentally apologizing to who he was about to suggest.
"How about Brielle's? She might let you go to her place, no?" He offered, a small smile on his face. His ear twitched. Jade paused for a moment, before smiling widely.
"She would." They replied, giggling at the newfound hang-out spot. She then ran over to him, gave him a hug, a kiss, before rushing outside to try and catch the fox before they left the town for the week. Probably to tell them about the change of location.

The truth is, seeing that fox again makes my mind hurt. It brings back memories I tried so hard to forget. I get cranky in that state, and end up lashing out at whoever tries to interact with me. I don't mean it, of course. The less I remember, the better for those around me. Hopefully Jade doesn't manage to get those concert tickets...
