Rosalina let Waluigi fetch his dancing outfit, while she picked a new dress. Waluigi would not be alone, since the green luma he had saved begged him to let him follow him. After getting his suit, the luma bid farewell for the time being. Rosalina told him to meet her in front of the Observatory itself. His suit looked rather intimidating, with a long white sleeved shirt, blue waistcoat, dark trousers, a cape that was black on the outside and purple on the inside, and to top it all off, he had a black top hat with a purple ring around the base. He could easily have been mistaken for a vampire.
This was the first time he truly acknowledged he was in space. as he gazed at the countless stars and planets, he culdn't help but feel lonely. Not the usual loneliness he felt, but it was quite unsettling being one of only two people for millions of miles. He wondered how Rosalina truly coped.
Then she came.
She was wearing a sleeveless, purple dress and gloves that gradually transitioned into a vibrant yet icy looking blue, as if she was wearing the galaxy itself. Waluigi felt something in his throat upon looking at her.
"You look nice," he said.
"Thanks! You look quite smart. Now shall we begin?"
There was no music. Instead there was the hard silence of space, a reflection of how these two people felt lonely in their own ways. Eventually, as Rosalina began to get used to the moves, Waluigi decided to play some on his radio. It was a grand orchestral piece, a song that Rosalina only new too well. She gasped "How did-"
Waluigi grinned. "lets just say my tiny pal gave me some suggestions."
They continued dancing, until they were both exhausted. "Not bad, "Waluigi panted. "You make a fine dancer."
"Thank you Waluigi, that was the most fun I have had in years. Will you please accompany me at the wedding."
"Sure," Waluigi did not hesitate. He wanted nothing more than to make Rosalina happy. He could prove to the others he had moved on from the past.
She could barely hold her excitement, and rapidly floated towards him, before hugging the purple plumber. Waluigi's cheeks turned red as a result. "Oh, sorry, I couldn't resist," she said.
"Don't worry, that felt nice. I best head back home now and get some rest, and so should you."
He gave her a wave as he launched back down to earth. There was something rapidly growing between the pair, even if they couldn't admit it to eachother, yet.
