Waluigi - From Rock Bottom to Among the Stars

Chapter 12- Waluigi Pinball

The pair emerged from the pipe to enter what was a  truly breathtaking sight. Waluigi recognised it in an instant. Many pinballs were scattered across the course, preparing to run over anyone who dared obstruct their path. The green surface of the upper half of the track began to turn pale from the dust that had gathered over the time tyres last rubbed themselves across them. The flashing lights remained as vibrant and colourful as ever and perhaps most importantly, the giant sculpture of the purple plumber himself still watched over the track, trying to spot any possible racers dashing around. It would not have to wait much longer.

"But princess, we aren't racing here for the next race," a confused Waluigi stated.

"I know, but we are racing here now, just us two, so best prepare to eat some dust!"

Waluigi grinned. "Oh its on!"

Since the track had not been used in a while, the only vehicles where a couple of standard karts. Furthermore, because the next competitive race wasn't going to be here, there was a lack of item boxes. Still, at least it resulted in a level playing field. 

Due to the lack of items, the race was quite an uneventful affair, but that didn't matter to Waluigi. He had enjoyed himself, and even though he had won he decided not to gloat. He was just happy to be racing here again, since he thought the day would never come and to top it all off, he was racing with someone he tolerated-no- he liked. 

"Thank you, Rosalina," he said with tears dripping from his eyes as they sat just before the actual pinball zone, admiring the view of Waluigi's gigantic replica face.

"The pleasure's mine, Waluigi," she replied as she leaned her head on to his shoulder. She didn't care that it was bony in nature, the fact it was Waluigi's shoulder automatically made it comfortable.

"Shall we head back then?" he asked.

Not for the first time, Waluigi and Rosalina emerged from a form of warping device and greeted with hostility. The Mario Bros, Peach, daisy, Yoshi, toad and Toadette were glaring at them with disapproval. Of course, one of Waluigi's few rays of positivity would swiftly fade away.

"What did I say, Rosie?" Daisy asked.  "I told you to watch out for that thug yet you didn't listen." The rest of the gang nodded in agreement, grouping behind Daisy as if she was their leader.

"What is your issue?!" was the cold response, although this was not from the wacher of the cosmos. It was from the pathetic plumber. " All you all seem to do is look at me dissaprovingly all the time. Waluigi tries to make things. up with you all, yet you don't care. Do you like me being the villain. Poor Rosalina here was only trying to cheer me up and yet you seem to be turning on her now! Daisy, its been a few years, just let it go. I'm not obsessed with you like your deluded mind thinks!!"

'So thats why Daisy hates him? Why didn't she tell me?' Rosalina thought.

Mario chimed in instead. "Waluigi, did you forget about-a you're schemes with Bow-"

"That was all Wario's doing!!!!! Wahluigi had no choice, since he did not want to be alone. But now he's gone, it's all been pointless. I hate that oversized turtle as much as you do, and I've never fought him!!!! Come on Rosie, lets go."

To the gang's disbelief, Rosalina followed him with no hesitation. They were trying to warn her. They had no intention of casting her away. In their mind they were flawless. Good old Super Mario and co could never be wrong, right?

"Waluigi, I'm truly sorry that they think like that. How could they try and stop you from having a friend like me? They should give you a chance to let go of the past."

A friend? She had to be joking surely.

"Meh, I'm just relieved that you didn't speak, since I don't want to ruin your friendship with them."

"Waluigi!! i will always be their friend, regardless of how they are feeling right now. It's you that I'm concerned about. How about we visit my place and see how the lumas are getting on. I'm sure your buddy will be excited to see you."

"Y-Your place?"

"Yes, now come on."

Rosalina used her wand and created a launch star, before she pushed Waluigi in to it.
