Waluigi flew like a bullet through the sky, and within a few seconds, he had arrived bac at Rosalina's home. Immediately, he spotted his green friend. "Hey, Greenie," he called, "Where is your mama?"
A look of dejection appeared on the luma's face. "Sorry Waleegie, she left for the castle a few minutes ago." Waluigi groaned; he was just heading for the castle so this detour proved to be a waste of time. Then, all of a sudden, hundreds of tiny lumas appeared out of seemingly nowhere. Waluigi was awestruck. Although he had seen them all before at Peach's castle, this was the first time he truly got to admire them. "Well, I guess I may as well stay for a while, I can't imagine what your mama would say if you are all upset." A huge cheer erupted from the observatory, and Waluigi was nearly blown off his feet. He chuckled to himself, perhaps he hadn't made an unnecessary detour after all.
Rosalina rapdily floated towards the castle; she had seen the sinister sign as well and wanted to clarify with the others to see whether they were also aware of it. the guards immediately recognised who she was and posed no obstruction, allowing her to enter with ease. She raced around a few corridors, determined to find some reassurance until she let out an agonising "OUCH!!!" She fell to the floor holding her head before using some magic to ease the pain slightly. In front of her was a pristine white glove. "Are you ok Rosie?" the voice asked. It was Daisy, she seemed unhurt, but was taken aback by the sudden collision.
"Yes Daisy I'm fine thanks."
"So what are you doing, looking for... Waluigi?" Dasiy teased. Rosalina frowned slightly. She knew Daisy hated that man with a passion, but at the same time, she was concerned that her increasingly strained relationship with the flower princess would pass the point of no return. "It's fine Rosie, I was only joking. Anyway, you looked like you were in a rush, how come?"
"Daisy, you are aware that Peach normally tells everyone if there is a change of plans regarding races?"
"Yes.. Oh! You're talking about the sign outside. Don't worry, Peach told a toad to notify everyone since she is busy preparing for her wedding."
Rosalina breathed a sigh of relief, although there was still something else troubling her. "Daisy," she asked again, "Don't you find it strange that this wedding is taking place at such short notice."
The orange princess considered this for a moment; it was a good point after all. eventually, she said "Honestly, it was a bit of a surprise, but nothing more. They both probably kept it a secret for a while before announcing it, and since they expected all of us- even Waluigi," Rosalina rolled her eyes as Daisy continued, " to come, there wasn't a need to announce it so far in advance. So, who is going to be you're dance partner?"
Rosalina's eyes widened and she immediately blushed. "Well, erm Daisy.."
"Don't tell me anymore, I get it," was the reply. "Look Rosie, I know you are friends with the man, and I'm sorry for being angry at you, but I'm just concerned for you that's all. I was in a similar position once, and it resulted in, well this!"
"Thanks Daisy. I appreciate your concern, but all I have seen is a kind and caring man that could do with a confidence boost. Everyone else constantly harrassing him doesn't help does it? He helped me improve my dancing skills, and nobody else offered to."
Daisy could sense something else brewing inside Rosalina. She couldn't help but giggle. "you.. REALLY like him don't you?" she asked cheekily. The blushes on Rosalina's face were becoming more noticable, while even Daisy could hear her heart fluttering from within. Daisy chuckled again. "Well, see you at the wedding, friend."
Rosalina cracked open a smile amidst the blushing. "Thanks Daisy." She was relieved to have fixed her friendship with Daisy and gently drifted towards the castle's exit.
