Before the Nail Choosing Ceremony:

You were under the blazing heat of the bell ring of rest, training on the same spot you've been at since challenging Mato.

Your previous actions of accepting defeat against Mato may have seem like you have finally given up.

That's what it was like around here. If you no longer challenge your opponent, it means you've given up. That was what it looked like when you accepted defeat.

But you did not give up.

You hear a quote in the back of your mind, "You may have lost the battle, but the war is not over."

That's why you're here in the same spot you have been in for the past week, still figuring out how to defeat your rival.

You found out that his weakness was above, that is how you can stun his special attack. But throwing a single hit will not be enough to take down a large volume such as Mato, so you had to make a stronger hit.

You've been striking your makeshift training dummy from above, over and over again, hoping that each hit would land harder than before. It was exhausting, it wasn't working, especially with a small singular stick.

Maybe your strategy was dumb in the first place, it felt like each hit you landed was another waste of time.

You paused your training for now.

You didn't have a proper plan. It's either you keep attacking Mato from above and hope he doesn't figure out his own weakness, or take him down in one blow, which was to hit harder than you've ever hit anyone before. None of the options seemed plausible.

Maybe if you slow down just a bit, and let your mind run its course. You've been training under pure adrenaline this whole time, so a little rest should help.

Clear your mind.

You'll figure it out in the long run.

And figure it out, you did.

Having Dual Weapons is an upgrade.

It won't guarantee Mato's defeat, but it advantages on the Element of Surprise.

Exactly just what the whole class wanted.

They've been holding their breaths over the possibility of your victory. Whether they would see you fall in attempts to defeat Mato, or will you surprise them once again like how you did with your last spar.

It was definitely a surprise to see you wielding Two weapons, but they haven't seen you do anything special with it yet. You could've done a similar job with just one weapon, you too thought the same.

But you knew there was more benefits with wielding dual weapons, you just haven't used it yet. Like you said, element of surprise.

You can't just give Mato some information about your newly upgraded ability.
