Fast like Rhosgobel rabbits the Fellowship run through the massive hall. Fear overtook their hearts as the Balrog roared behind them.
They finally reached a big archway at the end of the room. One by one the members of the Fellowship run through it with Gandalf and Aragorn staying behind. Eliriel was the last to enter.
The elleth turned around the corner only to see that one of the two staircases were destroyed, leaving only one path to continue.
From behind her she overheard a conversation between Aragorn and the wizard. As the rest were going down the stairs, she waited behind.
"Lead them on, Aragorn." Gandalf said urgently. "The bridge is near."
Eliriel heard yet another roar from the Balrog as the ground beneath her shook and trembled.
"Do as I say!" He yelled, pushing Aragorn forward to get him to move. The Ranger looked at him confused. "Swords are no more use here."
Eliriel following Aragorn run down the stairs, with Gandalf behind her. Although she didn't really have time to think at that moment, it did struck her as odd that Gandalf would say a thing like that to Aragorn.
Sure the man had incredible skills, but it was the wizard who led the group since he knows more about Middle-Earth than any of them.
She pushed these thoughts aside as she run down the steep staircases. One misstep and she would fall to her death, as there was naught but rock and fire below.
As the group progressed they came across a gap that split the staircase into two. Legolas was the first to jump across, his elven genes granting him agility.
Then Gandalf followed, releasing a grunt as he landed on the other side.
Just as Eliriel was about to jump next, an arrow of evil craft flew past her, barely missing her shoulder.
She snapped her head in the direction it came from and spotted more orcs. The elleth huffed in annoyance as she thought they were done with those creatures.
She dodged another arrow that aimed for her head and quickly jumped over the gap. Eliriel then began shooting the creatures with her bow together with Legolas.
Eliriel shot an arrow right through an orc's head and watched as it fell down in the deep abyss before shooting another one.
With Legolas, Eliriel and Aragorn shooting the orcs, Boromir took this chance to jump across with Pippin and Merry in his arms.
"Sam!" Aragorn called before throwing the hobbit over the gap. He stumbled but Eliriel caught him safely.
Aragorn then turned to Gimli but the dwarf stopped him.
"Nobody tosses a dwarf!" He said stubbornly before jumping on his own, using his arms to get a boost.
