Maya and Arjun left the palace grounds before sunrise, when the first light of dawn was just beginning to touch the horizon. The air was cool, and the early morning mist hung low over the fields, giving the landscape a surreal, dreamlike quality.
They moved quickly, their steps sure and determined, despite the uncertainty of their mission.
They reached the common market were the vendors were just setting up their stalls.
The market was a lively place, bustling with activity as traders and buyers were fighting over goods.
The scents of fresh produce, spices, and incense filled the air, creating a heady mix that was both invigorating and overwhelming.
Maya and Arjun began their search immediately, asking anyone who would listen about the special plant they were looking for.
They described it in as much detail as they could remember from their research—a plant with vibrant green leaves and a distinctive, almost glowing flower.
But their inquiries were met with blank stares and puzzled expressions.
"Have you seen a plant with a flower that seems to glow? It is called Surya Vriksha" Maya asked a vendor selling herbs and spices.
The vendor shook his head. "I've never heard of such a plant. Sounds like something out of a fairy tale."
Arjun approached an elderly woman who seemed knowledgeable about medicinal plants. "We're looking for a plant called the Surya Vriksha. It's supposed to have powerful healing properties. Do you know where I can find it?"
The woman furrowed her brow. "Surya Vriksha? Never heard of it, dear. Are you sure it exists?"
No one seemed to know anything about the plant, and some even laughed at the idea that such a magical plant could exist.
Hours passed, and their hope began to wane.
Maya's shoulders slumped with the weight of disappointment, and she could see the same despair reflected in Arjun's eyes.
"This is all my fault," Maya said, her voice thick with emotion.
"I was so stubborn. I insisted we come here, and now...now it seems like the plant doesn't even exist. What are we going to do, Arjun? How are we going to save my father?"
Arjun placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "Maya, it's not your fault. We did what we thought was right. We can't give up now. We have to keep searching."
Unknown to them, a man had been listening to their conversation.
He was a tall, thin figure, with a weathered face and sharp, intelligent eyes that seemed to miss nothing.
He approached them with confidence.
"Excuse me," the man said, his voice smooth and calm. "I couldn't help but overhear your conversation. Are you looking for the plant known as the Surya Vriksha?"
