Saturday was the Sabbath, but as was often true, for the children much of the day was taken up by sports. Late that afternoon after they were home, Susan called the furniture rental company arrange for the things they'd rented to be returned the following Tuesday, the day before the movers were coming, and Greg began bringing boxes in from the garage.
"Mama, do we have to put everything in boxes again?" Jessie asked when she saw them in the hall.
"Not everything Jessie, only those things that might get broken or lost if we let the movers do it," Susan said. "Some things we can just take in the car with us when we go there."
"Like Mr. Bunny?" Jessie asked.
"Like Mr. Bunny," Susan agreed. "But I think his friends ought to go into the box to keep them all clean."
"Can I use some of the boxes too?" Zackary wanted to know.
"Yes," Susan said. "We all will. We have a lot of boxes from the last time we moved, but we have a lot more to move this time too, so we'll do some and the movers will do the rest. "
"And we decide who does what?" Zack wanted to know.
"Yes," Susan said.
They paused in their efforts for supper and their end of Sabbath prayers, but the evening was largely taken up getting ready for the move.

On Sunday they all went to church and afterwards, Zackary made a suggestion.
"Can we just take the things from my closet over to the new house today?" he asked.
"Why do you want to do that?" Greg asked.
"That way they'll be there tomorrow when I get home after school. We're still supposed to go to the cottage tomorrow, right?" Zackary asked.
"Yes, you are," Susan agreed. "Do you need those things to do your homework?"
"Yeah, I do. Otherwise I have to lug them all to school, then over to the cottage afterwards," Zackary explained.
"You know, that does make a certain amount of sense," Greg agreed. "We could take Jessie's play table and chairs over today, so they have a surface to do their homework on in the house."
Susan shrugged. "Okay, fill up a suitcase and we'll take it today," Susan said.
"Me too, Mama?" Jessie asked as she surveyed her room.
"You too. I can help you fill up your suitcase. Papa can put it into the car," Susan said.
It didn't take Zackary long to fill up his suitcase and also a small box with school supplies and things from his closet before coming to help Jessie with hers. Greg put the cases and the box into the car, while Susan filled two reusable grocery bags with things from their pantry.
"Why did you do that?" Greg asked when she handed them to him.
"They're right, we will need these things tomorrow," Susan said.
Greg looked into the bag to find juice and items Susan generally gave the children for snacks after school, and also a box of trash bags, some plastic cups from fast food restaurants, a dish cloth and a knife.
"Okay," he agreed as he carried the bags to the car and put them in too.
"Are we ready?" he asked when he came back into the house.
"I think so," Susan said and they all went out to the car. The eagerness of the family to move in was palatable.
