CHAPTER 2

“when people run away, destiny reunites”

*After a week*

Yamini and her roommate get ready for their college.

“Shruthi is going to pick us up in 15 minutes. Hurry up!” Sakshi, her roommate informs Yamini.
“Yeah. Almost done.”

Yamini picks the neck piece she bought yesterday at the bazaar and quickly puts it around her neck.

She looked at herself in the mirror for one last time before she left the room.

“Shruthi is here.” Sakshi says while hanging up Shruthi’s call and picking up her scarf and her bag.
Yamini picks her stuff and the keys.

She locks the door and goes downstairs to find Shruthi waiting in the auto.

They get in and the auto drives towards their college.

After around half an hour, the auto stops near the college entrance.

The college name written on the board in capital letters was placed at the center of the wall of rocks.

It said ‘DEVI UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE’.

Shruthi paid the ride charge and they all stepped into the college.

“I heard we have a new admission today.” Shruthi spoke as they kept walking towards their classes.

“As far as I know the admissions were stopped yesterday, and who would join the college after its first week?” Sakshi asked.

“Admissions in the second week aren't bad though! They don't miss out on anything at least.” Yamini says.

“They probably had a recommendation.” Sakshi says.

They stop when they notice their mentor entering the class.

The students in the classroom stand up to wish the mentor. They eventually sit and watch the professor teach.

While everyone is busy listening to the professor and taking their notes down, a sudden voice interrupts them.

“May I get in?” a panting male voice came across the door.

“Who are you? I have never seen you on campus before.

New admission?” asked the professor.

“Yes, sir!” the new student replied.

“And you are late on your first day?”

“I am extremely sorry sir. This won't repeat again.”

“It's fine. You may go in. And your name?”

“Arjun, sir.”

“Yes, Arjun. You may go.”

Arjun walks into the classroom and finds a desk to help himself take notes.

Everyone starts taking their notes down along with Arjun as the professor continues to teach.

But someone in the classroom is surprised if this could be pure coincidence.

Yamini.

As soon as she heard Arjun speak, she, who initially was zoned out looking outside the window, turned her head to look at him.
To her surprise, it was the guy from the bazaar the other day.

She slowly looked at the neck piece that she bought on the day she met him.

“Am I in a bollywood movie or is it just pure coincidence?” She thought to herself and the bell went off.

“Does he even remember my face? Probably not? Whatever!” She kept thinking about this until Sakshi spoke.

“Oi! What are you thinking? You seem too worried?”
“The new guy-” 
“ARJUN RIGHT! Gosh, he looked so cool!”

Shruthi started simping over him, cutting Yamini mid way.

There's an awkward silence.

Everyone is just questioning their existence at this point of time.
The embarrassment on their face.

“Okay, maybe not.” Shruthi broke the silence.

“No, it's not that.”

“So he's cool”

“Shut up!” Sakshi was annoyed at this point.

“Nah! Like…I met him before in the bazaar when I bought this chain.”

“That weird guy!?” Shruthi was smart with this one.

“Yeah!” Shruthi and Yamini, both sigh.

“Guess Shruthi ain't lucky enough with this one.”
Sakshi caresses over Shruthi's shoulder while she sits all disappointed realising her delusions are not going to be true.

“But, are you going to talk to him?” Sakshi turns to Yamini.

“Like, Do you think he remembers?”

“I'm not sure but I don't think that matters." Yamini looks up to Sakshi.

“I don't want to start a conversation with him over this incident and I would look dumb if he doesn't remember. Let it be.”

“This girl keeps pushing away all the Bollywood scenes in her life.” Shruthi said.

Yamini looks at her watch on right wrist. “Fine. I'll get going.”

“Wait.” Shruthi gets up along with the girls while taking her bag.

“Let me drop you guys off at your hostel.”
