013. you can do it
╰── ❀ ✿ ღღ ❀ ✿ ──╯after her and tim's spat, penelope went back to finish processing the biker while tim went so sign them out some supplies. "six doses of narcan" the supply officer said while laying the packages down on the counter "throwing quite a party, huh?" he tried making conversation, barely getting a reaction.
penny then came up behind him, waiting a second before speaking up "biker's processed" she noted in as little words as possible. ever since she was little, the one things she could always do was hold a grudge. if tim wanted her to leave it, she would. but she'd also leave their interactions to the bare minimum.
"there's a bad batch of fentanyl making the rounds out there. miller went through his entire overdose kit in two days" he explained, getting a tense nod in return. tim looked over at her with just his eyes, noticing how she didn't even look at him as they walked to the patrol car.
the pair climbed in without any words exchanged and tim drove off once she was buckled in. surprisingly, penelope's stubbornness was bigger than her hatered of silence so nobody spoke until tim pulled up next to a curb in a residential area.
penny looked up to see a run down apartment building as tim spoke into the radio "7-adam-19, show us code 6, florence and central avenue" he relayed before unbuckling and looking at penny "stay here" he ordered before getting out.
penny heard the boot open and sat for a minute before her curiosity got the best of her. she sighed, frustrated with herself while getting out to ask tim, who was getting the narcan out of the trunk, what he was doing. "you deaf, doc?" tim asked sarcastically "i said stay in the car"
"you're not helping her" she commented, still speaking as directly as possible.
"you know this because you're some genius? have a phd in this as well?" he voiced mockingly "she's gonna shoot up, okay? that's the reality, this will save her life"
"you're enabling her because you can't handle losing your wife"
"i don't care"
"i'll do it"
"no you won't"
"you really want to see how she's living?" the woman finally asked, leading to a quiet sigh from tim as he extended the narcan towards her.
"paramedics said it's apartment 510" penny nodded and made her way up the stairs, knocking on the door labeled 510. isabel opened the door soon after she knocked and shut it again quickly after getting a look at penny's uniform.
"isabel, just- wait a minute"
"go away!" she yelled through the door "you-you can't come in without a warrant!"
"i know that, i just- i'm penelope valentine, tim's my T.O. he's just downstairs" she explained to the blonde woman "please just- give me five minutes, or he's gonna come up here and i know you don't want that" after a few seconds, isabel reluctantly opened the door to let penny in, glancing behind her to see tim's eyes dead set on the two women.
"so?" isabel questioned when the two were safely inside "what do you want?"
"i don't want anything from you, i've just got narcan" she got a confused look from isabel "tim wanted to come and give it to you but i told him it wasn't a good idea" she watched as isabel took the narcan from her outstretched hands, inspecting it almost suspiciously.
"it wasn't"
"do you know how to use it?"
"sorta, i only spent a decade bringing junkies back from the dead with it" isabel scoffed, in a joking sense more than a serious one.
