The next day, Destiny decided to go shopping with India. She hoped a day out would help clear her mind and distract her from the embarrassment of the previous night. They headed to Lake Fifth Avenue, a popular shopping district in the city, buzzing with energy and excitement.
"Ready to shop till we drop?" India asked with a grin as they walked into the first store.
Destiny chuckled. "Definitely. I need some retail therapy."
As they browsed through racks of clothes, India's phone buzzed. She glanced at the screen and rolled her eyes. "It's Durk. Probably wondering where I am."
Destiny felt a pang of awkwardness. "Is he mad about last night?"
India shook her head. "Nah, he's just being Durk. Always wants to know what's going on."
They continued shopping, picking out outfits and trying on shoes. Destiny felt a bit more at ease, enjoying India's company and the normalcy of a shopping trip. However, as they were about to leave the store, they ran into Durk and his friends, Von and Booka.
"Oh great, look who's here," Destiny muttered under her breath.
India smiled and walked over to Durk, giving him a quick hug. "Hey, what are you guys doing here?"
"Just hanging out," Durk replied, his eyes flicking to Destiny. "What about you?"
"Shopping," India said cheerfully. "You should join us!"
Destiny groaned inwardly. The last thing she wanted was to spend more time with Durk, she didn't like his vibe, But before she could protest, India was already pulling her towards the next store, with Durk and his friends trailing behind.
As they walked, Durk couldn't help but poke fun at Destiny. "You sure you know how to shop? Didn't seem like you could handle much last night."
Destiny shot him a glare. "I know how to shop just fine, thank you. And last night was... an exception."
Von laughed, enjoying the banter. "You two are like an old married couple."
"We are not!" Destiny and Durk said in unison, which only made everyone laugh harder.
The group continued through the mall, with Durk and Destiny bickering over everything from the best stores to visiting the right way to carry shopping bags. Despite the constant arguing, there was an underlying tension that neither of them could deny.
At one point, Destiny held up a dress. "What do you think about this one, India?"
Before India could respond, Durk chimed in. "Looks like something my grandma would wear."
Destiny rolled her eyes. "And what would you know about fashion, Durk? You're always in the same hoodie."
Durk smirked. "This hoodie has style. That dress, not so much."
