Chapter 1 - found

I took a deep breath, thoughts running through my head.

"They're all dead." "It's your fault." "The krang are back." "Usagi hates you."

Everything went quiet, my room once full of comfort suddenly feeling stale and cold. My whole body felt numb yet shakey at the same time as I sat down on my bed.

Usagi would often be here next to me during these situations, but I can't always rely on him. I hated the thought of being a burden.

I thought of what he used to tell me. My five senses, four things for every sense.

I opened my eyes softly, the room being blurred by tears welling up, I gritted my teeth and wiped my eyes.

I could see the soft blue lights from the fairy lights usagi and I had hung up a few months ago. I saw the shelf of comic books Donnie and I would stay up all night reading. My favorite teddy bear Raph made me when we were little kids. Finally the drawings hung on the wall Mikey had made for me over the years.

I took a deep breath, one down four more to go.

I breathed in deeply, smelling the cool air of my room, honestly I was so used to my natural smell, that the only thing I could smell in here was the metal in the air. I thought for a moment before grabbing a candle that was placed on my bedside table, it smelled like jasmine flowers, Usagi bought it for me. I grabbed the teddy bear Raph made me, it smelled old and stale, like our childhood, or dad's old robe... maybe I couldn't do all four for scent.

"Alright what can I hear?" I thought, out of all of us, Mikey had the best hearing, but mine was pretty decent. I sat for a moment before hearing the roar of the subway in the far distance. I could hear Donnie's music faintly blasting in his lab.. footsteps?

"Hey!" A familiar voice rang through my room as the door creaked open.

"Usagi," I thought, a warm feeling flushed throughout my entire body as I opened my eyes, a small smile returning to my face.

I saw as his face softened from a smile to a slightly worried look, he was carrying two glasses of water. His ears, which were normally tied up, were down and flowing down his shoulders. He was wearing a large T-shirt, which I'm pretty sure used to be mine, along with some shorts that were just barely visible under the shirt.

He quickly sat down the cups and made his way towards me, he sighed before sitting next to me. "Four things per sense." He said in his perfectly soft tone of voice. Tracing circles on my shell, something that sent shivers throughout my body, instantly relaxing me.

I chuckled, "already on number three Amor," he smiled and placed his head on my shoulder.

"You're a fast learner, I'm not surprised," he teased. God he's perfect.

"I'm on touch.." I muttered, closing my eyes again. I ran my hand over the blankets, number one.

"Mn.. that's a good one," he whispered.

I placed my feet firm on the ground, feeling the rug I put down years ago. "Two.." I mumbled. The teddy bear was already next to me, so I ran a hand down the coarse, matted fur of it.

"Three," Usagi said, I assumed he was watching what I was doing. He grabbed my hand and held it softly, running his thumb up and down the side of it. I loved his hands. "And that's four." He whispered.

I chuckled, "thanks.."

"Any time amor.." he said, sitting for a moment before reaching over for a glass of water and jar jar a melatonin gummies. "For taste, these can be your first two." He handed me the glass.

I took a sip, focusing on the coolness as it flowed through my mouth and into my throat. I never loved water more than this moment, especially since my throat was so dry for some reason..

"Here." Usagi handed me a berry shaped melatonin gummy, which was supposed to help me sleep, but never really did.

It had an elderberry flavor, it was actually really good, as much as these didn't really do what they were supposed to... they were a good flavor, so I never minded taking them.

"Alright, now number three?" He asked slowly. I opened my eyes, sitting in confusion for a minute before snapping my fingers and looking over at the bedside table.

A few days ago, Mikey had found a small chewy caramel candy. I didn't know from where or really how old I was, but now felt like a good reason to eat it.

As much as it tasted stale and a bit old, it was still decently good, totally worth sneaking into Mikey's room at 3am to steal.

I watched as Usagi looked around the room to try and help find a number four. I grabbed his hand, turning his head to look at me slowly with the other hand.

"And four" I said softly before kissing him softly. I felt him smile into the kiss, stifling a chuckle. He pulled away, giggling to himself.

I could watch him laugh for hours and be perfectly happy.

"That shouldn't count!" He said in a joking tone of voice.

I smirked, "why? You taste like peppermint!"

"Stop it! You're supposed to be regulating my breathing!" He covered his face, which was clearly bright red.

These were my favorite moments, when he's all flustered...

"Oh please, I can't breathe normally when I'm around you," I said, pulling his hands away from his face and placing a kiss on his cheek.

He sat on my bed, looking a perfect as ever as he stared up at me with a soft smile on his face.

"You're very sweet, but we should go to bed," he cupped my face into his hands, looking away to pull the blankets down and crawl into them.

I spaced out while staring at him, god I can never get over him. Everytime I look at him it's like I fall in love with him all over again.

"Yea okay." I followed him and climbed into bed, wrapping my arms around him as he cuddled into my side. "Goodnight amor."
