Ivy

We left for New York a few hours ago. We planned to stay with Holden's family for 2 weeks then come back to London for the rest of the time. I wanted to show him everything in London. He's been  a few times but he told me he wanted to see how I lived my regular life. I seriously don't know how I got so lucky.

"What's your favorite thing about living in New York?" I asked him.

"Probably being able to walk everywhere. I like to walk everything is close by." He put his phone down to talk to me. It's the little things he does that makes my heart do flips.

"That's how London is. Back in Mullingar we can walk it's just a little more spread apart. I like to walk places. It fun to me." I grabbed his hand and intertwined our fingers. I still can't believe he's my boyfriend. The best part about it is no one knows about us. It's our little secret. "Do you have any friends for me to meet?" I asked him.

"Not really. You've met my band and they are my best friends. I was super shy growing up and never really talked to anyone. Maggie Rogers is still a good friend from college, but she's in London right now." He brought our hands up and kissed the back of mine. "What about you? When are you taking me for a tour around Mullingar?"

"Well whenever my mum invites me home you can come with me. My dad doesn't like it when I just show up. It'll be around my birthday probably. Besides, Mullingar isn't too big. It'll take longer for you to show me New York or me to show you London."  I've only ever told him birthday once. It's May 14th. We have a good amount of time in-between shows throughout that time. Maybe I will go home.

"But Mullingar will be more special. It's the place that you grew up in." He told me. "I can't wait until you take me with you. Before you say the same thing about New York, a lot more people live in the city. It's not as special if there's a lot of people."

"It's special because it's where you grew up." I kissed his cheek.

"Then it's equally as special as Mullingar." He smiled lovingly at me. Love is a weird word.

"Fine." We sat in silence for the rest of the flight. We had first class so our seat was pretty comfy. We couldn't hold each other while we slept, which was annoying. I got used to his heat and the airplane was cold. The best we could do was hold hands through the little window. By the time we had gotten off the flight, I was exhausted. Holden said his brother should be picking us up from the airport.

"Sammy!" I heard voice said. I turned to where the voice came from and a man came walking up to us. Holden grabbed my hand and we started walking to him.

SMALL AUTHOR'S NOTE- I COULDN'T FIND WHAT HIS BROTHER'S NAME WAS SO I'M NAMING HIM. IF ANYONE KNOWS WHAT IT IS PLEASE COMMENT AND I'LL EDIT IT.- END OF NOTE

"Jake!" He walked up to a man who had the same curly black hair. You could tell they were related. It was like me and Niall. We looked extremely alike but so different as well.

"Hey man! How are you? Having fun traveling the world?" He slapped Holden's shoulder.

"Yeah its a blast. How's grandma?" He asked Jake.

"She great, man. She's excited to see you. Who is this huh? You finally brought a girl home." Jake started to walk over to me.

"Oh this is Ivy. Ivy this is my brother, Jake." He walked to me and placed his hand on my back.

"Hi Jake it's nice to finally meet you. I've heard so many great stories of you and Holden." I said sticking out my hand.

"You got yourself a little uhh.. where you from?" He turned to me.

"Ireland" I told him.

"Ah yes. Sammy you got yourself a little Irish girl huh?" He looked at Holden before looking back at me. "Sammy here was a little hermit growing up. Our mom made me bring him everywhere. I don't think the guy has a single memory before the age of 15 without me in it." He joked with Holden. I liked his nickname for him. It was cute.

"Yeah yeah, come on let's get our stuff and go. I'm exhausted and want a nap." Holden walked over and grabbed our bags. I tried to help, but he wouldn't let me. His brother went over and grabbed Holden's bags for him while Holden carried myself. I felt awkward making someone carry my stuff. We walked out to the car and looking up at New York was amazing. The buildings were so cool and everything was busy. It reminded me of the middle of London.

"Wow this place is magnificent." I looked out the car window and around the city. I was in awe.

"Yeah it is." Holden grabbed my hand. We were both sitting in the backseat of his brother's car.

"You grew up here? I'd never want to leave."

"It gets to be a lot. Sometimes the small town is so much better." He wasn't looking at the city. He was looking at me.

"Sammy, have you ever lived in a small town?" His brother asked from the drivers seat. I've never been to America before. The front seat on the other side of the car was throwing me for a loop.

"No, not really. I stayed in one for a few weeks when I was writing my album. It was nice." Holden answered. We got stopped in a traffic jam. This was so cool.

"Welcome to New York traffic, Ireland." Jake said from the front. "No one knows how to drive."

"Jake don't call her that. She's got a name. My nickname is bad enough. She doesn't need one too." Holden shook his head.

"Everyone get's a nickname, Sammy. Get over it. Besides, your nickname suits you." He looked at us from the front mirror.

"Yeah, well she doesn't need one." Holden defended.

"I'm calling her Ireland."

"Ivy. Her name is Ivy." He was starting to get upset.

"Holden, it's ok. I like it." I smiled trying to reassure him. We pulled up in front of an apartment looking building.

"Here we are. Sammy boy is home." Jake turned and looked at us. "Ivy, welcome to the Jaffe household. Good luck." He didn't say anything else and got out of the car.

"It's not that bad. I'm sure they'll love you. We don't have to tell anyone that are dating you you'd like." He said. He knows I like how we area secret.

"No, I think your family should know.We just have tell them not to say anything to anyone else. Besides, what if they try to separate us. I don't want to be sneaking around here too." I answered him.

"Okay." He said before pecking my lips. This man was perfect. He was my everything right now. We got out of the car and grabbed our bags. I was able to help now that Jake had left us. He was already by the door waiting for us to walk up. We walked up to the door and Holden smiled at me.

"About time, lovebirds." Jake said looking up from his phone. I was nervous.

"They are going to love you." He reassured me. Jake opened the door. Here goes nothing.
