Tegan's stomach fluttered with butterflies as she stood in front of the floor length mirror in Harry's bathroom, admiring the dress she just recently purchased for their Catalina Island date. As per Harry's request, she picked a dress with red in it - you know, for romantic reasons.
It was an off-white dress with large red roses all over it. It had a plunging neckline and an open back, so she wasn't able to wear a bra. She just hoped the double-sided garment tape she used on her boobs would prevent any wardrobe malfunctions while they were in public.
To top off the look, her long hair cascaded down her shoulders in curly waves and her makeup was precise, right down to her perfect smokey eyes and bold red lip stain.
Tegan walked out of the bathroom after one last once-over and put on her new gold gladiator sandals she purchased to go with the dress. She chose not to go with heels because she didn't know what they'd be doing and she knew walking on sand or grass or any type of uneven earth was nearly impossible in heels.
A moment later, she heard the text tone on her phone and she quickly picked it up from the nightstand.
Harry: I'm certain you look beautiful. Come downstairs, love.
Tegan smiled at his text before shoving her phone into the small Gucci purse Harry had gotten her in New York not long ago. Her overnight bag was already downstairs with Harry's. She took a deep breath as she left the bedroom and began the long descent down Harry's mountain of stairs.
"Tegan," she heard Harry coo. She looked up to find him standing not far from the bottom of the steps wearing black slacks and a red silk button-up short sleeve shirt.
"Do you like it?" She asked with a smile as she fluffed out the skirt once she reached the main level.
"Do I like it? Of course I like it. You look incredible," Harry gushed, closing the gap between them as he leaned in to leave a kiss on her lips.
"Have a twirl," he suggested, sliding his hand down her arm to take hers.
She giggled, but did just that, twirling her body underneath their connected hands before Harry pulled her in. He dropped a hand to her waist and held up their connected hands before swaying smoothly with her.
Her smile was wide as they danced to the quiet sounds of Dreams by Fleetwood Mac that Harry was playing over the house speakers. She'd only ever danced like this with her father at a wedding. She didn't even dance like this when she went to prom.
It was so intimate with Harry, especially with the way he was looking at her. His pupils were wide and there was a soft smile on his lips. She couldn't help but bite her lips between her teeth feeling her stomach flipping vigorously as she looked back at him.
"You're absolutely beautiful, Tegan," Harry breathed a moment later. She was certain his words only made her face flush more.
She let out a little whimper as her eyes quickly looked away from his. He breathed out a laugh as he leaned in, pressing his lips against her ear before whispering, "kitten."
Tegan whimpered again as her skin tingled and immediately covered in goosebumps.
"I love that," he chuckled lightly before kissing her jaw.
"Harry," she breathed, turning to look at him and he pulled back just enough to look her in the eyes.
"Bashful Tegan," he cooed, smirking at her.
"I will never not be," she promised, letting out a little giggle.
"Like I've told you before, I won't stop complimenting you," he chuckled and she couldn't help but smile at him with adoring eyes. He meant so much to her.
