Harry and Tegan drank their beers as they made their way out of the tent, walking toward the stage again. The band that was onstage started playing a cover of Mr. Brightside by the Killers and Tegan immediately started dancing.
"I love this song so much!" She said excitedly as Harry smiled and watched her.
"'Jealousy, turning saints into the sea. Swimming through sick lullabies. Choking on your alibis. But it's just the price I pay. Destiny is calling me. Open up my eager eyes. 'Cause I'm Mr. Brightside,'" Tegan and Harry both scream-sang at each other, really getting into the song.
Tegan felt nothing but energy and elation as the two of them danced around and sang to the song. She couldn't remember ever feeling as happy as she did with Harry in her life.
"'It started out with a kiss. How did it end up like this? It was only a kiss, it was only a kiss,'" they sang and Harry quickly dipped her backward, kissing her hard on the mouth and she laughed out loud as he pulled her back up because most of her beer spilled on the ground.
"Oh my god," she giggled, tipping back the bottle, letting what was left of it dump into her mouth before sending him a sad face.
"I can get you another," he chuckled.
"No, it's fine. I'm already drunk enough," she giggled before she continued singing.
"'She's touching his chest now,'" she sang, placing her hand on his chest before he tugged her to his body and sang, "'he takes off her dress now.'"
Tegan giggled as she leaned in kissing him, really wanting him to take her dress off. She wanted him so badly.
"Wanna go back to the hotel?" She purred against his lips.
"Mm-hmm," he hummed, nodding his head against hers.
Her smile was a million miles wide as he took her hand and began to lead her toward the exit.
"'Jealousy, turning saints into the sea. Swimming through sick lullabies. Choking on your alibi. But it's just the price I pay. Destiny is calling me. Open up my eager eyes. 'Cause I'm Mr. Brightside,'" they continued to sing along with the band as they walked out of the festival. They could see their hotel from where they were, so they decided to just walk.
"Oh my god. I love that song so much," Tegan gushed, feeling the alcohol really swimming through her veins.
Harry chuckled as he grabbed her empty beer bottle from her and tossed both of their bottles in the recycling bin at the exit.
"How do you know all these old songs?" Harry chuckled.
"God, you act like I'm so much younger than you," she laughed out loud.
"No. I'm not saying that..." Harry protested through a laugh.
"My brother Colton listened to pretty much everything when I was growing up. And my parents are both pretty into music," Tegan explained.
"Yet, you didn't recognize Careless Whisper..." Harry pointed out.
"Hey, I figured it out," she declared, dropping her jaw to send him an offended look.
"Not by one of the most recognizable opening intros of all time," Harry teased.
"Okay, shut up," she laughed, pushing against his arm, making him stumble.
"Come back here," he said, quickly regaining his footing before grabbing her in his arms, making her screech as he dug his face in her neck again, nibbling on her skin.
