FEW DAYS LATER

The excitement was palpable as the wedding day of Wonwoo and Mingyu unfolded, a celebration of their enduring love. As San and I walked hand in hand towards the venue, the familiar buzz of anticipation and joy filled the air. Guests milled around, exchanging greetings and laughter, a mix of family, friends, and figures from the K-pop industry, including members of Seventeen who brightened noticeably upon seeing us.

I shared warm hugs with each of them, their enthusiasm adding to the festive atmosphere. Their smiles were infectious, and their genuine happiness for their bandmates added a special warmth to the day.

San followed closely behind me, carrying two elegantly wrapped boxes containing the silver watches we had chosen for Wonwoo and Mingyu. These weren't just gifts; they were symbols of our gratitude and affection for the couple, a small token to commemorate their special day.

I navigated through the bustling hall, making my way to the separate room where Mingyu was likely making his final preparations. A soft knock on the door prefaced my entrance, and I smoothed out my suit, wanting to present myself as neatly as possible for the occasion.

As the door creaked open, I peeked inside, catching Mingyu's eye. His expression, a mix of nerves and excitement, shifted to relief when he saw me.

"Hey, looking sharp!" I greeted him, stepping into the room where the air was thick with the scent of fresh flowers and cologne. Mingyu stood amidst a whirl of activity, his groomsmen helping with the last-minute adjustments to his attire.

"Thank you for coming," Mingyu replied, his voice tinged with emotion. "It means a lot to us, really."

I offered him a reassuring smile and handed over the gift box. "We wouldn't miss it for the world. And we brought you something, a little something from us to you both."

Mingyu took the box, his hands slightly trembling with the day's anticipation. As he lifted the lid and saw the watches, his eyes lit up, a wide smile spreading across his face. "This is beautiful, thank you so much. Wonwoo will love this."

San, who had just entered the room, added, "We thought something timeless for a timeless relationship. You guys are perfect for each other."

The room filled with soft laughter and appreciative nods from those gathered around. Mingyu set the watch aside carefully, making sure it was secure, before pulling us both into a grateful hug.

I returned Mingyu's hug tightly, feeling the depth of our connection in that simple embrace. He was not just a friend but family, San's brother, who had been there for us during some of our most challenging times. When San was serving in the military and I needed support with the café, Mingyu, alongside Wonwoo, was always there to lend a hand or an ear. They both held a special place in our lives, deserving of every bit of appreciation we could show them, even if it was just in the form of a watch—a symbol of our enduring gratitude and love.
