Chapter 14 - Exploration - Vampire Territory

Sebastián didn't know what to think. Melissa is always acting like she didn't care, but she did save everyone from a giant spider. She kept Jake alive and even told him the truth. He couldn't tell is she saved him because she wanted to or because Jake was his second best friend.

Somewhere along the outskirts of the Human Territory, you are in a group, which is really 4 groups traveling closely together, and all of the humans are conversing softly. Everyone comes to a stop as they see a small village in the distance. Alastair and the other group leaders who you've now learned from weakest to strongest are: Alastair, Tristan, Raphael, and the strongest of all, Kyle, are turning to face everyone.

Of course fucking Kyle is the strongest.

Kyle addresses everyone, "Okay! This is the last town before we enter vampire territory. This is where we will split up into squads of 5. You will be assigned to different squads based on your abilities."

After about ten minutes of calling names you hear, "...Noah, Flint, Tyler, Sebastian, and Ella...."

Oh hell no. Sebastian is not going to be on a squad with a vampire without me there.

"...Laurel, Scott, Bailey, Grace, and Warren..."

You very casually maneuver over to Noah with Sebastian. Sebastian rolls his eyes and says, "Mel, don't say something stupid."

Too bad.

You glare at Noah, "If I smell even a drop of Sebastian's blood, I will reduce you to ash."

Noah shows you his normal shit eating grin, "We'll see."

Sebastian groans, "She means it man, don't antagonize her or she might just ditch her squad to stalk us."

No, I'd just find a way to out Noah as a vampire in front of everyone.

You roll your eyes, "Shut up, I trained you, you should be able to hold your own. Just don't get yourself killed."

Sebastian scoffs playfully, "Why are you so worried if you trained me?"

You give him a blank stare, "Because I know you'll try to play hero and save everyone from dying. Even if you put your own life at risk."

He smiles, "Which is why you're there to back me up."

You roll your eyes, "Stalking you is sounding better every second. Just don't get your ass kidnapped, then I can't help you."

He snorts, "You really think they would keep us alive if we lost?"

"Whatever, I've gotta go," you turn around and ride your horse over to your group. You ride over there with an absolute glare on your face. Bailey, an older looking man close to his thirties, is the first to speak, "Alright, now that we are here, all the groups will split up and fan out to different small villages or just across the land. We've all been given maps and we will mark any territory we gain. Some squads will protect the towns instead of exploring."

The girl,presumably Grace, asks, "How do we hold the territory? Surely they'll just send more vampires to occupy the town."

Scott answers before Bailey can, "They ship out more guards after we've been here for two weeks to live in the towns and protect them. Usually there are some of the best defensive guards sent out here."
