Ashton's pov
After 30 minutes of using google translate to try and get the right prescription, I finally got my meds and was preparing to call my mother.
Thank god for Joliè mentioning to pick them up here because now I have an answer for when she asks about them.
I decided to go with the A to Z approach during the call with my mom, because she and I are similar in having full conversations in our head in preparation for our talks together.
I sat on a bench by the pharmacy and pulled out my phone tapping my mother's picture and waiting as it rung.
"Tiana Ashton Rosalita Daniela Martin! Why the hell haven't you been answering your phone?!"
I quickly held the phone away from my ear as she started to rant immediately. I rolled my eyes at the extra names she added.
She's been adding a name that's similar or found in the country in which I'm traveling since Daja and I went on our graduation trip to France.
"Mama! Calm down! I cannot understand what you're tryna say! Damn" I exclaim as I try to grab her attention.
"Why is your sister telling me that you're off your meds. What did I say to you not two weeks ago Ashton?"
I bite my lip as I quickly try to remember what she said.
"That if I missed another dosage you would move into my guest room" I sighed defeatedly as she hummed into my year.
"Rell helped me move in, but I'm only here until you're back on a regular schedule again. Tiana. What were you thinking? Baby we were worried sick. I thought the worst Ti" She said as her voice broke at the end.
I frowned as my heart sunk "I didn't mean it mama, I promise. I just wanted to live in silence... I didn't think-"
"Of course you didn't think! You're off your meds Ashton. You know that your swings happen fast. You promised me you'd be more diligent with it.
I cannot sit here at home while my baby is off in another world with no way to contact her. I will not do that again for any of my kids, I can't" She spoke sternly as she sniffed away her sobs.
I kept getting that sinking feeling the longer she spoke, realizing this was much more serious then I originally convinced myself. How would I feel if my mom went on vacation across the world and didn't answer me for a week?
I would have called the police after 24 hours honestly.
"Listen Ash, I love you so much and I don't know what I'd do if we lost someone else in this family. I need you to be reachable, you know that. Between Samuel and Jaya-"
