I never thought that I'd think a person was refreshing, and I'm not talking about that, 'I just took a drink of cold water after playing outside all day long' type of refreshing.
I'm talking about the feeling of fresh bedroom sheets that hug you in...

Joliè's pov
As I left Ashton with lingering kisses on her cheeks, I felt as though I was living in the clouds. My heart was soaring at the gift she found for my mother as I walked towards the store's checkout counter.
The fact that she had found something attached to birds was incroyable.
My mother was an avid bird watcher when I was young, her love for them had me appreciating the little pets more then your average person. I glanced back to see Ashton standing with a bewildered look on her face.
It was the same look she had before she ended up at the airport.
I fully turned to see her rubbing her arms now, one of the signs she was feeling anxious. There was absolutely no way I would let her run this time, now knowing how far her dramatics like to go.
So I set down the talons and quickly made my way back to her just as she pivoted to bolt away.
I grabbed her hand as gently as I could before she could get to far away. "Ashton, vous allez bien? Quelque chose ne va pas?" I asked quickly as I softly squeezed her hand in mine. (Ashton, are you okay? Is something wrong?)
She looked down quickly before biting her lip and looking at me cautiously. A deep breath being taken before she began to speak very timidly.
"I- I'm not someone you want to end up with. I could never be enough for you or anyone really..."
I soften my gaze and watch as she fidgets. So I take her other hand and interlock our fingers.
"Pensez-vous que je ne suis pas prêt à avoir de la patience?" (Do you think I am not ready to have patience?)
"Did you mean what you said before? About falling in love with me?" She asks quietly while I bite my inner cheek to avoid smiling.
I can tell right now she is very serious and now I am the one getting nervous. So I clear my throat of the nerves and stand slightly taller before I respond.
"Ashton, I do not want to lie to you ever. I do not however, want to freak you out either. Because I do not want you to run away"
I spoke cautiously as I kept looking at her. She finally looked up to my gaze and I could feel my ears getting red just from her eyes meeting mine.
"Joliè, falling in love isn't easy. It takes your hope and turns it to disappointment. Expectations become too high and then comes the crash and the burn" She shook her head frantically.
