"Hey kids sorry about that, got of to the wrong start. I'm...um... Your dad, I guess." He stood in the centre of the room, arms by his side, his face betrayed him and showed us his nerves.

"Look its late, do you have an food Johnny?" Robby responded. I saw Johnny deflate with each word. His face held no hope and he looked beaten as if this was one of his karate fights and he knew he'd already lost. If he hoped we would call him dad he would be disasterously wrong, the guy can't just appear after 16 years and act as if nothing happened.

"Yeah, no that's cool. You guys have to be up for school early anyway." He walked over to the cubboard and handed up a pack of crisps and a beer each. Keeping his eyes on us but we both refused to look him in the eye.

"School already? Wow really coundn't wait to get rid of us." Robby chuckled, only there was no humor behind his words only anger and what only I will know as hurt.

"And we can't drink, we're seventeen but you wouldn't know that." I said dumping the beers on the counter beside me. "Look obviously none of us want this, the only reason we're here is because its the law, even though that's bullshit and we don't need anyone to look after us. In one year then we can leave and we'll be out of your hair." I grab my crisps and trudge to the only spare room.

Robby follows suit behind me and I know that we're gonna have to share a room. We both let out a long exparated sigh and collapse on the matress. The paint is falling of the walls and the matress is stiff and uncomfy. Other than that the room is completely empty. A small dusty window opposite the bed. The room is big enough for two beds so we know we will both fit. Me and Robby used to sleep in the front room together. We slept on the sofas every night. Robby's sofa was closest to the door, he used to insit that he would sleep there so if anything happened it would happen to him first. I slept on the opposite sofa so that we both could comfort each other with our presence and know were not as alone as we feel.

"It'll get better y/n." Robby sighed, but it sounded like he was trying to convince himself as well as me.

My head falls to his shoulder. "Ro, are you nervous for school tomorrow?"

He pushes my head playfully of his shoulder. "You're so dramatic, it'll be fine." He huffs. "I'll take the floor until we can buy a bed. I want the pillow though." He snatches the pillow of the bed before I get the chance and puts it on the floor.

It takes me a while to fall asleep because its so quiet. Every so often my thoughts are interrupted by Robbys snores, I fight the urge not to suffocate him with a pillow so he will finally shut up. But the darkness takes over.

****

The school is massive, much bigger than our last one. Me and Robby just bunked off school for the last year, mum didn't care but for some reason Johnny's really pushy about it. We walk into the school together and find our way to the students reception. There's a middle aged lady sitting behind the counter, her oval glasses hang at the edge of her nose. Her hair is fully gray and thrown up into a messy bun, so much for presentable.

"If you've injured yourself already you're not going home." She spits, still not looking up.

"New students, we want our schedules." Robby spits back with just as much bitterness.

"Oh, Keene twins?" We both nod in unison. She moves over to the intercom and looks as bored as she possibly could. "Please may Demetri Alexopoulos please come to student reception." She moves back to her desk and dumps two pieces of paper infront of us.

"Thanks so much for your help." I say sarcastically and push Robby's back towards the waiting seats. A few minutes later a lanky awkward looking boy appears. I punch Robby's leg and stand up quickly but the boy hasn't even noticed me and Robby behind him.

"I haven't done anything." He starts. "Okay I did run into that boy, but only because I was being chased. I mean you would run if you were being chased by a bunch of angry karate loving..." He slowly stopped talking. The woman looked bored of him already. "This isn't about that."

"Nope." Robby interuppts before he can start talking again.

"It's about them." The woman points to us without looking up. "Look after them Mr Alexopoulos and show them to their classes."

"Hi, I'm y/n, this is Robby." I smile.

"Hey, I'm Demetri. I guess I'll be taking you to your classes. Let me see your schedules." Me and Robby put our hands out to Demetri at the exact same time. "Twins?" He laughs. He examines our schedules carefully. "Y/n we have most classes together, that'll be easy. Robby except for one class yours is completely different."

I instantly look at him. "Uhh... you'll be okay?"

"Yeah, I'll be good. Right where's our first class?" Robby smiles.

The corridors all look the exact same and people stare alot more here then they did at our old school, I guess twins aren't common around here, or they just never have anyone new around. I try to memorise the classes and different signs but everything looks the same. Just when I think even Demetri's got himself lost he turns and faces me and Robby.

"This is your class Robby, Bio." Robby nods and takes hold of the door handle. "We'll meet you here after class." Robby then goes in and closes the door behind him. "Our class is just here, we have algebra." It feels like we do a loop and we end up at another classroom, this one has a different sign though. This sign has anti-bullying on it; which I find ironic considering it sounds like Demetri is getting bullied and the woman at student reception looked like she couldn't care less. He opens the door for me and I step inside.

The teacher is a young man, brown curly hair and doesn't look a day over 25. "Seems we have a new student today, would you care to introduce yourself?" He smiles brightly. I take a seat at the back of the class where there is a two, two person desks. I nod for Demetri to sit next to me when he goes to sit by himself at the front.

"My names-" But he interupts me, signaling for me to stand at the front of the class. "I'd rather not, wouldn't want to steal your spotlight, sir." He chuckles softly. "My names y/n, I just moved here with my brother." I shrug.

The teacher must realise I'm done because he quickly recovers, introduces himself and begins talking about Maths. Demetri rustles about with his bag and I begin looking araound. The teacher is ranting about some equation or something and only the people at the front two desks look really intrested, but as you get closer to the back everyone starts looking more bored. People are sleeping on their desks and others are hastily taking notes. Next to us two boys reside, one has a spiky red mohawk, with blue piercing eyes and a small scar just under his nose down to his lip. His feet are on the desk while he sits looking at the teacher with his arms folded. He reminded me of the woman at student reception, both seemingly couldn't care less about what was going on around them. The boy furthest away from me had short curly hair and was quite built, he was far less intresting then the boy with the mohawk.

My phone vibrates in my pocket. I rest my feet on an empty chair on the end of my desk and pull out my phone.

Ro :)

Ro: How's your class?

Y/n: So shit, Yours?

Ro: Shit too. Told you we should have ditched.

Y/n: Robby we said we were actually gonna try here.

Ro: Boring.

Just as I was about to reply Demetri interupts my thoughts. "You and your brother are much nicer than I thought you would be."

"Oh really?" I ask him with a smile, it's not the first time we've heard this and it sure won't be the last.

"Yeah, you two look like the kind of guys that would bully me."

"And what does that look like?" I ask him confused.

Suddenly something small and light hits my face.
