A number?

I find Demetri at the end of break and he silently walks me and Robby to both of our classes. Unfortunately, I have history which is one of the only classes I have alone. With a stroke of luck I see the back table is completely empty. I slam my stuff down on the chair next to me and put my arms on the desk and then I rest my head there. I'm already exaughsted and were only at fifth hour. Of course Robby has already tried to fight someone, this is quite literally the last thing we could need to happen right now.

I feel a bang next to my head and I jump up to see black trainers. I look next to me and Hawk's there, with my bag on his lap. I groan and snatch the bag back from him while he's smirking his ass off, of course he's enjoying all of this.

"Look Hawk, Robby didn't bait you for nothing, he was just mad about... something-"

Hawk interupts me, "Because Miguel is close with your dad I get it." I sigh, I should have known that Miguel would tell Hawk everything I just really wished he hadn't. Despite the conversation, Hawk is still smiling at me and it's beginning to make me unsettled. "Shame about Robby though."

My head whips around to face Hawk. "What do you mean?"

Hawk chuckles, "Well he's gonna get suspended when they take my statement about what happened, there's footage and multiple witnesses to back me up." I start to deflate. "But..." I look up at him, confused. "I could say I prevoked him and that it was just an arguement nothing physical, I'll get Demetri to erase the cameras and we pretend nothing happened."

"I don't understand. Why would you do that?"

"Because you're gonna go out with me." He smirks. I knew there would be a price for anything good to come from him. There always is for people like him.

"What? Fuck no. Robby can do the suspension." I stand up but Hawk grabs my hip and pulls me gently back into the chair. Hawk moves closer to me.

"Look that will go on his permanent record for life, getting suspended for trying to break someones arm? That can get him in alot of trouble. Is not going on a date with me really worth ruining your brothers future?" By his smile, he knows he's won.

"Fine." I groan loudly. "My number is-"

"Umm..." Hawk puts his hand at the back of his next and begins rubbing it uncomfortably. "See I didn't really think you would agree, so I got your number of Demetri."

I scoff. "Are you serious? Your such an asshole! I'm guessing he didn't just give it to you..." Hawk mutters under his breath and doesn't look at me, this single handedly confirms my fears.

"Hawk seriously?" I run my hands through my hair.

"Look I didn't think you would just give it to me." I sigh and nod. None of this is okay. My brain can't comprehend how is this happening in the first week, let alone the first day. A douche puts me on a pedistal to decide between Robby's future or go out with him, there's only one answer. Hawk doesn't look as happy as he did before, for a second I almost think he feels slightly guilty for his actions. I can't even blame Hawk for lunging at Robby. He made an unnecessary comment about something that has ruined Hawk's life for 17 years, of course he was going to counter act. Robby escalted everything because he was angry and no one was giving him a fight.

"Hey Hawk?" I look at him apologetically.

"Yeah princess?" He responds with a smirk.

"I'm sorry about what Robby said... about your lip." Hawks smirk is gone and is now replaced with a grimace. He's so stiff I think he might have turned into one of them actors who stand on the street pretending to be a statue. "As much as you're an asshole you really didn't deserve that, I'll talk to him." Hawk is beginning to look really uncomfortable. I let out a massive yawn and begin again. "Thank you, for pulling Miguel away when I asked."

"No it's cool." I rest my head on the desk and drift of slowly with Hawk sitting next to me.

****

I wake to a hand on my back and I shrug it off immediately. I realise it belongs to Hawk and he doesn't look surprised that I'm uncomfortable with his touch.

"It's finished princess. Where's your next class? I saw you ignoring your brother so i'm guessing you don't want to walk with him?" I shake my head still barely awake. "I'll walk you to your last class, okay?"

He takes my bag and holds it at a distance from him, I laugh at that because for a second I'm picturing it's Hawk's bag. The walk to my next class was fairly quick I had foreign languages, where we was learning Italian.

I don't ask what lesson Hawk has I just thank him and walk inside and silently begging for this day to be over already. There's no one I know in this class and all the tables have at least one person there. Great. I think to myself. Then a girl smiles at me and ushers me over to her desk. I smile sweetly and walk over.

"Hey! You're the new girl! Y/n right?" She smiles.

"Yeah that's me, word gets around huh?" I smile back.

"Oh yeah, so fast. I'm moon by the way." Her brunette hair is wavy past her shoulders. "You're really pretty."

"Oh, thank you. You're gorgeous, I love your hair."

"Aww thank you so much, I curled it this morning. I never really curl it because I never know how it's gonna turn out. It's like it's different every time." She yaps.

I like her yapping though. It's calm and comfortable exactly what I need after this long day.

"You should totally sit with us tomorrow. Your brother than come too, but I would be careful. Yasmine's single and on the prowl." She jokes.

"Who's Yasmine?" I question.

"Oh, she's my friend. She'll like you don't worry." She assures me. I smile politely because I am not worrying about this girl. I have a year left of my life here and by the sounds of it she's going to be the least of my worries. If things keep carrying on like this I might actually mentally combust.
