One month later.

"mmmm" I moaned as I gripped the sheets feeling my next climax approaching. She spread my legs open even more and dived in deeper. I instantly climaxed and this time my legs started to shake.

She let me come down off my high before licking her way up to my lips. She let me get a taste of myself. I was ready to switch positions when my phone started to ring. It was almost midnight so I had no clue who could be calling.

"Who's calling you this late?" Victoria said still on top of me. I told her I didn't know, and she moved from on top of me and I reached over to the nightstand to grab my phone.

"It's the hospital." I said before quickly answering. "Hello?"

"Yes Ms. James?"

"This is she."

"Ms. James your Mother is not doing well."

"What? What's going on?" I said cutting them off before they could continue.

"We can't say much over the phone, so we advise you get to the hospital as soon as possible."

I nodded as if they could see me and hung the phone up. I got up from the bed and went towards the bathroom.

"What's going on Megan?" Victoria asked.

I knew I had to stay calm because I have a feeling Imani is the reason behind this. She did go on the run before the police could arrest her, but she was found hiding at one of her cousin's house two weeks later and she's been in jail ever since. Coincidentally, Victoria is supposed to go question her in two days.

I grabbed my robe off the bathroom door before coming back out to Victoria already by the bathroom door in my shirt which I am assuming she grab from off the floor since she is the one who took it off.

"My mom is not doing well. I gotta go to the hospital." I said before heading back into the bathroom. She was hot on my tail before I could even close the bathroom door.

"Well, I'm coming with you." She said as I went to turn the shower on.

"No, You need to get some rest since you have that big interview to prepare for-"

"Please you didn't care about my rest 10 minutes ago." She said cocking her head to the side as I just looked at her cause I knew what she was referring to. "Besides I've been prep and ready for that interview for a month now. I can take a day to support you." I didn't even respond to her, I just let her join me in the shower.

After we showered, I drove us to the hospital. I made sure my mom was safe from Imani, but my gut is telling me she had something to do with my mom's change in health.

We had been in the waiting room for about an hour before they called us.

"Ms. James, as you know your mother has been in remission, but it wasn't 100% that all the cancer cells would be gone. We thought your mother was responding well to the new medication we have her on, but now were seeing more cancer cells and they are developing at a rapid pace."

I felt the world around me start to slow down as the doctor told me my mom's cancer is back.

"Wait what? New medication? She was doing well on the old medication, why did you change it? Can't you go back to it?"

"Ms. James, we know you probably have a lot of questions and trust me we are doing our best to understand why cancer is developing so fast. She's in room 425 if you want to go speak to her." And with that the doctor walked away.

I felt a hand on the small of my back and turned around to see Victoria. She was standing aside when the doctor came up and I am sure she still heard everything. She brought her hands to my cheeks as the tears formed in my eyes. I couldn't do anything but break down in her arms.

She held me as I cried. I knew deep down there was no way for me to blame Imani for this because this was risk we knew would happen with not all the cancer cells being gone. I put so many people's lives are risk and my own job to make sure my mom was okay but here she is still sick.
