Layla*

Looking up i realized we had made our way back to the house, as I made my way up the step with Asher's help the front door swung open revealing a sweet five year old boy in his Superman pajamas with tears streaming down his face

"Mommy!" He sobbed running up to me wrapping his tiny arms around my injured leg.

I gasped but not because of the shooting pains I felt coursing through my body but because I can feel Asher's body stiffen as he quickly removes his hand from my back. His eyes rapidly go from Finway to me as he stands there with his mouth gaped open.

I pick up our son and sooth his crying tears not turning to Asher.

"It's okay baby. I'm okay" I repeated to him snuggling him into my chest as I stroked his hair calming his crying eyes.

"M-mom?" Asher finally spoke up.

Even though I feel slightly guilty for keeping him away from his son for so many years a part of me kind of enjoys putting this big bad alpha out of control for once. He had all the control when we were younger and now I have control over this situation. Over him.

Turning to Asher I nod my head now not keeping my baby a secret he is mine.
"Thank you for helping me back I will explain everything tomorrow" I use his own words against him.

"Lay" he growled getting frustrated with the current events playing out in front of him

"Please. He needs me right now and I don't need this" I motioned between the two of us "right now, whatever this is. Goodnight" I walk through the front door closing it behind me.

Leaving a dumbfounded looking Alpha on my front porch.

Dax and Marie quickly came into view in the living room from the kitchen area

"Oh my god Layla I'm so sorry he was tucked into bed I didn't even hear him come out!" Marie panicky spoke as I looked down to my baby in my arms

"It's okay he was bound to find out sooner or later about him" I smiled sadly at a now confused Finway looking up at me

"Find out about who mommy?"

I sigh and look towards Dax and Marie. Dax finally speaking up since my arrival

"Layla. It's not fair to keep them from each other especially now they are so close" he sighed

"I'm just scared" I snuggle Finway closer to me not losing eye contact with my brother.

"Understandable Lay but maybe it will be better than you think it will be if they know" Marie piped in

"If I had a son I would do anything to be with him" Dax walked over ruffling Finways hair making him swat his uncles hand away from his head frowning

"Mommy what is Da talking about" I see tears began filling up in his eyes clearly frustrated from the lack of understanding between the three adults

Dax and Marie take this as a sign to leave me and my baby so we could talk about his father privately. Sitting him on the couch and making myself comfortable beside him I turn, now facing in his direction I sigh. Today has been a long day and I really don't want to have this conversation but Dax and Marie are right it's not fair to keep them from each other if it's what they want.

"Baby, how do you feel about Alpha Asher?" the confused expression on his face never subsiding

"He is weird. He keeps calling you my aunt and he looks at me funny" he lets out a small giggle as he reflected back on his few interactions with Asher "you are my mommy ! Aunt Rie is my aunt not you!"
