Shifting mid run I darted out of the pack house and into the woods, the blurriness from my teary eyes clouded my sight unsure which direction I was heading in. At this moment I couldn't care less where I was going all I knew was I had to get as far away from her as possible.

My ears twitched at the sound of paws not too far behind me, I knew Rie and Rosie were catching up to me. My feet slowed down as my body was over exhausted from the adrenaline that is quickly running thin.

"Lay please!" Rosie cried out to me through mindlink. I stopped and fell down breathing heavily.

"It's her."

How could he do this to us! Lila whimpered tucking her ears back

"Come on Lay. Let's take a rain check on girls day and go home" Rie whispered as Mare, her wolf inched closer to me scared I will dart off again and rightfully so.

All I could do was nod in agreement.

"I need to talk to him" I sigh shifting back into my human form not moving from the spot I was laying in, sticks and leaves irritating my bare skin all over. I didn't care though.

"He's such an ass Layla. Maybe you should just come back with us to SunMoon in two days" Rie huffed not hiding an ounce of her hatred towards my mate.

Earlier Dax had gotten a phone call from the SunMoon Alpha saying there was a rouge incident and him and Marie needed to come back as soon as possible. He had given me the option on whether or not I wanted to come back knowing my mate was here. I had planned on returning with them at first before the date with Asher but now things have gotten more complicated with Finway knowing of him and wanting to get to know him more.

I shook my head at the idea for the moment "I can't just run again. It wouldn't be fair to Fin." Trying to stand to my feet shakily, failing miserably as I cry out in pain.

Looking down at my bare legs I finally see a large gash I had at some point acquired during my great escape from the pack dining hall.

"Oh my god Layla!" Rosie cried out rushing completely to my side as she inspected my wound. "We need to get you to the pack hospital"

"N-no please Asher will find out I don't want to see him right now" even though I know I need to speak to him about Kailey's reappearance to BloodMoon I just couldn't bare the thought of looking him in the eyes at this moment.

"Okay I have some stuff at my place we can go there plus we are closer than your parents" Rosie called out as her and Rie lift me up making me whimper in pain.

I would heal eventually nonetheless but with the state I am in, it probably won't be anytime soon since my mind is on other pressing things. I gave in and let them lead me to the Beta household.

Hunter rushed out as soon as the house came into view, luckily they live in a more secluded area on the land so no nosy neighbors could see me in my broken naked predicament. Once he got close enough he picked me up bridal style and quickly entered his home laying me on the couch. In any other case I would have been embarrassed being naked around Hunter or any other male for that matter but the truth is at the moment all I could feel was the pain from the large gash on my leg mixed with the numb feeling of sadness that has engulfed me from the betrayal of my mate.

At this point the wound had began to heal itself with the rapid healing power all us werewolves possessed but that didn't stop everyone from being overly concerned about me.

"What exactly is going on" He boomed turning towards his mate looking at her intensely.

"She. She found out about Kailey" Rosie whispered in fear she has upset her mate by the state their supposed Luna was in while being under her care.
