Chapter 15. Finders Keepers

On their way back, Umemiya opted to stay at Café Pothos since it is nearby and will only take a 15 minute walk.

While as much as the first years want to stay with him because this is the first time they come so close to Umemiya, they had to leave for various reasons. So some of them asked if they could go straight home. since This left Anzai, Nagato, Nirei, Suo, Sakura, and Kaji to stay follow Umemiya with Yuki on his back.

While Sakura and Suo decided to walk behind Umemiya as they felt scared for Yuki's life. It was not an overstatement, seeing how she looks like she was dangling on Umemiya's back, and he was continuously moving around skipping and hopping each and every time as he hums.

'A drop in the ground can be fatal especially if it hits your head.' Both thought as they swallowed the lump in their throat.

One time, he was hopping so happily that Yuki when Yuki loose her grip on him.

It had Nirei, Kaji, and Ren's eyes bulging from the surprise.

While the two, obviously, trembled, and reflexively step up with their hands ready to catch her if she fall when Umemiya stopped and fixed her grip.

He then turned around still humming only to see the two boys in front of him with their hands spread out.

He tilted his head in confusion. "What are you doing you two?" Immediately the two fixed their stance, with Suo back in a straight stand with his hands clasped in his back and his smile back in his face. While Sakura, had his eyes anywhere but Umemiya as he tries to hide his flushed cheeks.

With no answers from the two Umemiya turned back around and continued on his tracks.

"Now that I think about it... should we eat there before we leave..? We'll treat your wounds first. I'll ask Kotoha to take care of Shinomiya-kun here. Is that cool?"

Umemiya asked the three as he still had his back on them.

He was replied with a few hums and groans of agreement, woth Sakura particularly the latter.

"Then, let's go! I'm hungry!!!" Umemiya then smiled and continued hopping again.
While his fellows are continuously tensing up from the danger his liveliness could bring to the unconscious Yuki.

Kotoha kept on sighing as she remembered that night. Her worry kept her up at night for two consecutive days already... it was her guilt is gnowing at her. Afterall, she had no means to contact Yuki... so she can't do anything about it. She tried asking Sakura about her once he ate at Cafe Pothos, but he only said that she didn't go to school for those two days and that his classmates are all wondering about her.

He also seemed confused why Yuki was out but decided not to asked about it.

But Kotoha, her presence of mind, today really, is close to nothing, probably it's because her head was up in space leaving her behind.

She only got out from her reverie when the door to her Cafe opened up, revealing Umemiya. She was not really ready to entertain him today, so she was about to just let him be when she caught a glimpse of a sleeping Yuki on his back.

She couldn't notice the others who dropped down on the floor from continuous anxiety and exhaustion.

"What happened?" she immediately blurted out in worry and assisted Umemiya by opening the door wider for him to easily enter.
