We've reached a thousand reads, so here's another chapter😊.
.............................................
Two days passed since that evening and Yuki didn't show her face not even once to Kotoha nor anyone from her school.
Actually, she was missing in action due to a whole different reason... she caught a cold.
So, she was not hiding purposely, although, she would if she didn't get sick.
All this time, she was laying inside her home with a cold... and no one amongst her peers knew about it... besides she didn't give her phone number to anyone. Therefore, no one can contact her, except maybe her adviser which surprisingly didn't ring her once.
Right, since she also couldn't go out just after she caught a cold, she couldn't buy grocery... so she was left feeding on her milk and rice.
At this moment, she was all holed up in her futon and comforter.
"Tch... at this time, really. Right after getting busted?" She muttered when a scene of that night passed her mind. 'What if they burst out in that door at any moment?' She thought but half an hour had passed and yet not a single person entered through the door, and since she got bored from all that laying down unable to do anything, she forced herself to stand up and changed her clothes.
'I need to buy grocery... I couldn't survive any longer with just these...' She thought opening up her refrigerator. She closes it and took her wallet from her vanity table. '...oh, and a few medicine.'
"Thank you for your patronization. Come back again..." The girl at the cashier station waved at her flirtatiously. She looked at the paper she had in her hand which was handed to her along with her grocery. She sighed. "You've wasted your paper... gal." she muttered hiding it in her jean's back pocket.
She continued on her tracks until she turned by an alley, hoping for a shortcut. She continued waalking until she had come by a deserted area. She's not bothered of it thought not until her ears caught sound of unusual screams coming from a nearby abandoned shipyard.
She wanted to ignore it because something's telling her that going inside that place means absolute danger, but before she could even stop herself, she was already entering through the gates.
'Damn me and my curiosity.' she hisses at her stupidity.
She kept walking further and further until she reaches the door of the shipyard. But what welcomes her was a sight she never saw coming. Sure, she was preparing to witness something shady or gruesome... (she also thought of ghosts haunting the place) but not something like this... a fight that presents to her the entirety of Furin High's First Year - Class One.
It can be likened to a surprise.
"Tch... what have they gotten themselves into this time?" she can't help but chastise her classmates.
She is not ignorant of their fighting escapades... but to this extent?
'Man... they sure are brave... no, actually they are just reckless.' For one, they just went straight on a fight without an intricate plan... (she could tell) two, they are only on offense, they didn't even spare a thought for defense, and lastly, they fight, by themselves. It just felt like everyone's on their own which contradicts their coming in the place in a group.
They were also surrounded.
Yuki sighed and contemplated about the things at hand.
Should she join them?
But that will only contradict her earlier statement about idiocracy and recklessness, besides she's not in any way fit to fight at the moment, not to mention, she doesn't know if she could actually help in turning the tides over to their side. In addition, why would she stick her nose in their business? Shouldn't she lie low for now? Besides she had enough of interactions with them... it only gives her headaches and unnecessary panic. Lastly, she had a bigger problem at hand, and swinging fists right here, wouldn't solve it.
So, she had decided, to be just a bystander. If by chance, she changes her mind, then, possibly she'll lend a hand after the fight, obviously she'll have to think of an alibi how she got there.
The door was not completely open, gaining her the advantage of hiding her own self, besides both group of fighters are busy fighting at the moment so there wouldn't be any possibilities of anyone jumping on her... unless they called for a back up.
If they did call for one... then she'll handle that when they arrive, but for now, she watches the whole scene unfold in front of her... indeed, it's a messy and chaotic scenery to offer to one's eyes.
'Pathetic.' she thought as she watches the one person at the top who's sporting a smug expression and is looking like he had instigated this whole fight.
Yes, she is certain it was not any of her classmates who started it... Afterall, they are just a bunch of goody two shoes who are good at fighting.
How could she tell? Well, the one they admire, the person at the top of Bofurin, their leader, is a goody two shoes himself, so.... I guess they took after him.
"No... wait, why did I even think of him?" she muttered shaking her head in disapproval.
Her attention went back to the fight in front of her. It seems that guy has jumped down and appeared with some of probably the top dudes in their group too.
Her gaze followed Sakura who was confronted by that same guy.
'How aggressive and dirty.' she thought as she watches the guy swing the lumber he had on his hand.
"So these guys wearing jackets with dragon skeleton print on their back is called Keel." she muttered when she heard some dude yelling about it.
'Is that really their name?' she thought, stuck in her mind for a while and torn between applauding them or laughing. since keel, can also denote collapse. But her relaxed body obviously stiffened when her eyes wander towards the direction of Suo and Nirei, with the latter positioned behind Suo.
It seems like he was being protected.
"Tsk." She muttered in annoyance. She commends him for his bravery but... she couldn't help but be worried about the kid who has been nothing but nice to her since first day.
Yuki took some steps and passed the gate quietly with her eyes wandering for something she could make use of. When she saw a rope hanging from the ceiling, she made a few false steps backwards to gain momentum before sprinting as she grabs the rope. This enabled her to swing with the rope and make it to the flatform higher than where the fight is happening. She huffed from the excessive force she used and placed her grocery at the corner.
'I'll come back for you later.'
She then continued to run where Suo and Nirei are. She looked back for a second towards Sakura and grinned.
'He can do it, himself.' she thought as she have already witnessed what the guy's really capable of.
"I'm just going to save their asses this one time." she jests.
