Chapter 26. The Arrival of a... Rival?

"W-wait!"  Umemiya dodges her hand when she unexpectedly charged at him. 

"Who'll wait? Huh?!" But still Yuki was really mad so she couldn't stop herself from charging at him. Her hands moving towards his ears.

He was on the defense mode for quite a while now and just when he was about to duck, she unfortunately caught him in his precious ear. Instantly, he cried out in pain when she pulled and twists it on her grasp. 

"Ow...Ow... Y-yuki l-let go for a bit." He muttered in plea as a few tears slipped from his eyes.

"I haven't gone that far!!!" He really shouted in surrender hoping she'd hear him out.

Yuki gradually let go of his ear. "Ah... Is that so?"

She asked hoping to hear a confirmation.

Umemiya winced.

"Yes... just the waist." He confirmed as he held his red ear which was burning from the pain of getting pinched too hard.

 A smile rose on her lips when he muttered those words. She was so relieved by his statement.

She patted Umemiya on his back rather rapidly and heavily when he nodded. 

He was so wrong for trusting her smile. 

'She's wicked.' He thought as he touch his burning ears.

He sighed.

"So... Are you okay now?" He lightly asked her as he slowly rubbed his reddening ear.

Yuki stared at him and let out a small smile before avoiding his gaze. 

She owes them the truth but before she reveal everything, there's still something she has to do, so she will keep her mouth shut for now.

"Is it finished?" While Kotoha whom was eavesdropping from the side of the doorframe for a while now speak out, completely surprising the two.

Yuki stood up straight and crossed her arms. "You have something to explain."

Kotoha flinched and stepped back a little. She rubbed the back of her head and let out a forced smile. "Ehehehehe... Th-that wa..."

"Hajime... tell me, why am I here again?" Yuki couldn't help but frown when she got summoned at their school's rooftop.

Umemiya just smiled at her and gave her a pack filled with seeds.

"We'll be planting tomatoes today." He excitedly stated showing her his wide grin and then proceeded to grabbing her by the wrist.

She didn't know how things turned out like this. Yesterday, she was still thinking of fleeing after getting busted but here she was getting dragged and is apparently going to plant some vegetable or was it a fruit? She couldn't bother.

She was hesitant, partly because she was feeling lazy and just wanted to rest after class but there's also a side of her which was curious.

'How does a plant grow?' that she wanted to know.
