Chapter 6

"Cause I'm in a field of dandelions, wishing on every one..."

It had been a month since they all went to the club. The group was now called the Potatoes(courtesy of Brynne; don't ask why), and they were all at Aiden's house (still the hangout spot).

"No, cereal is NOT a soup, Rudy! That's blasphemy!" Aru exclaimed sitting up on the couch, glaring at Rudy.

"Then why is it a liquid that we eat?" Rudy retorted.

As the two continued their bickering, Aiden looked through his camera, scrolling past all of the memories they had made this past month. There was one that showed Mini with ice cream on her nose, and Rudy licking it off, while Mini had a look of horror on her face. Aru was in the background, keeling over with laughter. Her hair was coming out of her braid. She looked stunning, as always.

Aiden looked up from Shadowfax and smiled at Aru. Currently, she was wearing a yellow sweatshirt and black sweatpants, with a furious look on her face.

Rudy sighed. "Fine, you win."

"HAHAHAHA. BOW DOWN BEFORE ME, LOSERS." Aru cackled, standing up on the couch. Mini just rolled her eyes, and Harper stifled a giggle. Ryan was just staring at Aru, terrified.

"Okay, let's calm down. Aru, sit."

"Fine, snob." Aru grumbled as she sat down, her arms crossed across her chest.

"Troll." Aiden retorted. Aru stuck her tongue out at him.

"I have to go, I have a shift at the hospital." Mini said, getting up to put on her shoes. "Rudy, can you drive me?"

"Sure." Rudy said, kissing Mini.

As the two went out the door, Harper said, "I booked tickets for me and Ryan to watch a movie, we should go, too."

"Yeah, and I need to do some things at the restaurant." Brynne said, checking her phone and getting up.

"Bye." Aru said.

As Brynne walked out of the door, Aru realized that it was just her and Aiden. She whipped out her phone and texted Mini.

Maybe, maybe not.

Aru rolled her eyes. She shut her phone and looked at Aiden. "So, what do you want to do?"

Aiden shrugged. "Wanna go to the park?"

"Sure."

As they drove to the park, Aru talked (more like argued) with Aiden. "No, Spiderman is WAY better than Batman, Wifey!" (Aru had given Aiden the nickname after she had gotten to know him better, considering the fact that he acted like a total wife and complained way too much.)

"That's just stupid, Shah."

Aru rolled her eyes, and was about to retort back, when she was interrupted. "We're here."

They got out of the car and started walking around, Aiden taking pictures while they talked.

"Oh, shoot, I forgot my phone in the car. Hold on, I'll be right back."

Aru nodded and sat down on the park bench, taking out her phone to pass the time.

"Hey, there. What are you doing out here alone?" an unfamiliar voice rang out. Aru looked up to see a guy, probably the same age as her, standing in front of her.

"Uh, no actually, I-I'm not alone. My friend is just getting something from his car." The man waved it away.

"No one's with you right now, are they? How about you come with me? I'll make sure you're safe." he said with a smirk. Aru shifted on the bench, uncomfortable.

"No, it's fine, I can just wait here." she said, weakly smiling.

"Aw, don't be scared, I won't hurt you, come with me."

"No, really, I'm okay." she said, biting her lip nervously.

Just then, Aru felt an arm wrap around her waist. "Get away from my girlfriend." a familiar velvety voice said. Aru looked up to see Aiden glaring at the man. He then looked at her, and his eyes conceived a message, Play along.

Aru went on her tiptoes to kiss his cheek and said, "Come on, let's go." Aiden shot one more look at the man, and walked away, holding Aru's hand.

As they started to walk away, they heard something drop to the ground and the two whipped around to see Mini and Rudy there, Rudy's phone laying on the ground, and both of their mouths wide open. Aru and Aiden blushed and quickly retracted their hands. "Uh, it's not what you think! There was-"

"Stop. You guys are dating and you don't even think to tell us?"

"No, it-it's not like that! Here, why don't we sit down somewhere and talk." Aiden said.

A few minutes later, the four were sitting at a chaat place, Rudy and Mini glaring at them while Aru and Aiden shifted uncomfortably.

"So, how did this," Mini gestured to the two, "happen?"

"No, we are NOT dating Mini! There was this creep that wanted me to go with him, and Aiden was pretending to be my boyfriend so that he wouldn't bug me anymore! Nothing is happening between us!" Aru said, while Aiden nodded vigorously next to her.

"Oh." Mini and Rudy looked embarrassed. "Well...sorry? But you guys kinda make it hard to believe that you were pretending. I mean, you guys were looking at each other, like, with this look in your-"

"OK THAT'S FINE. LET'S SHUT UP. Now, what are YOU guys doing? I thought you had a shift at the hospital, Mini?" Aru inquired, raising an eyebrow.

Mini's eyes widened, and she grabbed Rudy's hand, dragging him to the door. "UHM SORRY I THINK I'M... OH LOOK BRYNNE'S CALLING US. WE HAVE TO GO BYE." And the two rushed out, people in the restaurant staring at them as they ran.

Aru and Aiden looked at each other, staying silent for a few seconds, and then burst out laughing. "Well, that was interesting." Aiden said, after they both calmed down.

"Yeah, to say the least." Aru grinned, although her mind was somewhere else. What if we really were more than friends?
