"I'm losing my mind 'cause she doesn't know..."
"GET BACK HERE WITH MY PHONE YOU SNOB."
"ONLY IF YOU GIVE ME BACK MY CREDIT CARD TROLL."
Aru was currently chasing Aiden with a slipper in her hand.
"IT'S NOT MY FAULT YOU DIDN'T LET ME GET SWEDISH FISH." Aru screeched as she flung the slipper at his head. "MY PHONE IS MY LIFE SOURCE."
"YEAH, WELL MY CREDIT CARD IS MY MONEY SOURCE."
"FINE, TAKE YOUR STUPID CREDIT CARD YOU PIECE OF SH-"
Before Aru could complete her sentence, Aiden turned around and tossed Aru her phone, and in exchange, Aru threw him his credit card.
As Aiden smirked, Aru felt butterflies in her stomach, and she knew that her cheeks were pink, so she quickly turned around and plopped onto her bed. The two were hanging out at Aru's apartment because the other Potatoes had ditched them(again). Aru cradled her phone, then opened it, just to see about fifteen texts from Harper.

Aru sighed. "Harper wants us to come to the mall."
"Yeah, sure. We'll take my car." Aiden replied. "But we are SO not using my credit card." Aru waved his statement away. "Sure, keep believing that."
As the two got to the mall, they started looking for the rest of the group. When they finally found them, they all started talking.
"ARU. WE GOT WORRIED. WHY WEREN'T YOU REPLYING TO HARPER'S TEXTS." Brynne said.
"Well, someone," Aru glared at Aiden, "took my phone, so I didn't read it."
"She took my credit card!" Aiden defended himself.
"Credit cards can be deactivated, Acharya. Phones can't."
"Well, technically..."
"Shut up, Ryan."
"Sorry."
The Potatoes all started shopping (and eating), until it was time for the mall to close, and they all said their goodbyes.
Aiden and Aru were the only ones left, yet again, since they had come together. "Wanna get froyo?" Aru asked.
"Fine. But this time, we are DEFINITELY not using my card."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They used Aiden's card.
As the two talked, Aiden admired Aru's hair and smile, and the way she laughed. Everything about her was perfect. "...so, then, Mini falls face flat onto the dirt, and starts complaining about the germs-" A wisp of hair fell into Aru's face. She tried to blow it out, but it stubbornly stayed there. Aiden reached out to brush it away, touching her cheek in the process. He quickly retracted his fingers, a deep red coating both of their faces.
"Uh, sorry, it was really annoying me." Aiden muttered, stirring his vanilla froyo around.
"It's fine. I mean, that was really nice of you."
"Mhm. No problem."
Aru looked up, a soft smile on her face. "You know, you're a really good friend."
Aiden's heart stung at those words, but he managed a smile. "You are too, Shah."
As the two sat in silence, Aiden couldn't help thinking, What if we were more than friends?
