"Cause you make me..."
"Grace, we can't postpone everything. Harper's already got the Bryer case, but the Johnsons are already bugging me about taking too long."
Aru was currently at the front desk, talking with an intern who had messed up the scheduling for one of her cases. She was leaving the next day, and she was working hard to try and get everything done. Chances are, she won't be back for a month or two.
"I'm sorry, Miss Shah, I was just really tired, and-"
Aru sighed. "Look, Grace, I get it, okay? Tiredness isn't a new thing for me, but you need to get the scheduling right, or we could lose a really big case." Noticing Grace's face, she added, "I'm not yelling at you or anything, I'm just asking if you understand this. I'm leaving tomorrow and Miss Madden already has enough work as it is, so I want things to go easier for her. Just try to fix it, okay? And don't be afraid to ask some of the other employees. They'll be glad to help." Grace smiled back, and Aru started to work on quickly completing a paper so that she could head up to her office again.
As she was signing her name, she felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist, and she glanced up, smiling at Aiden. "Hey, you."
"Hey, yourself. I finished my work, so I wanted to visit you." he grinned back, kissing her.
Aru groaned. "I probably still have a few more hours of work left, so I won't be done until like nine or ten." She smiled apologetically at him. Then, she realized a lot of people were looking at them. Flushing, she said, "You wanna stay? I was just about to go into my office."
Aiden shrugged. "Sure, I don't have anything to do." Aru smiled, then handed one of the workers at the front desk her completed form, and the couple headed to the elevator, hand in hand.

Aru smiled as she hugged Mini. "I'll see you again, Mini, I'll only be gone for a few weeks."
Mini sniffed as she hugged back tightly. "I know, but I've known you since we were like twelve. I'm going to miss my sister."
Aru laughed, then turned to Harper. "Oh, stop being so mopey. You're going to make me cry. It's not that long!"
Harper laughed. "No, I'm just sad because I'll have to do so much work while you're gone." she said, rolling her eyes.
Aru laughed and said, "Don't worry, I'll call you and send you more stuff to keep you occupied."
Harper playfully slapped her shoulder and hugged her.
"I'm going to miss you, Shah. We'll all try to come after our work is done." Brynne smiled.
Aru grinned back. "You'd better." She hugged her, then said bye to Rudy.
"Take care of Mini. If I hear one word about-" she was cut off by Rudy laughing.
"Don't worry, Aru, I'll take care of her."
"You'd better." She glared at him, then gave him a quick hug. "Same goes for you, Ryan." she gave him a playful shove, to which he grinned at.
"Come on, Shah, we have to go." Aiden said, wrapping an arm around her waist.
Aru nodded, and with one last goodbye, walked with Aiden to security.

After the plane took off, Aru made herself comfortable, her head on Aiden's shoulder while the two watched a movie on her phone. The Devil Wears Prada is really a masterpiece.
As they watched the movie, Aru could feel her mind drifting off to New York and her home. She hadn't seen her parents in three years. She wondered if the house had changed, or if her mom had kept her room. Probably not, but one could dream. Her room wasn't much, but she loved it. There were posters of some movie or band or whatever stuck onto the pale yellow walls, and her desk and floor would always be slightly messy. She had photographs of everyone she loved on one wall, right above her bed. She called it the "Wall of Fame". Aru made a mental note to herself to add a few pictures of Aiden to it. She remembered all the sleepovers she would have with Mini and the quiet talks in the middle of the night with Kara. Sometimes, when the twins were younger, they would sneak into Aru's room and sleep with her. She always pretended to be mad, but she didn't mind.
She let out a sigh as the ripples of nostalgia hit her.
"What are you thinking about?" Aiden asked, probably hearing her.
"Nothing. Just my house. I haven't been there for three years. I really miss it all." she said.
Aiden smiled, kissing her head. "We'll be there soon."
Aru smiled back and nestled closer to Aiden, watching Andy get a makeover.

Aru could feel Aiden's head drooping down more, indicating that he was falling asleep. She smiled softly, and turned off the end credits on her phone and took out their earbuds. Aiden stirred, and she gently pulled him into her lap, and started playing with his hair to help him fall asleep. Soon, she could feel herself drifting off too, waiting for New York.
Little did she know, more was coming to her than she could ever imagine.
