"Young Midoriya? My boy? Are you ok?"

"Hm?" Midoriya stopped thinking and looked at All Might, who was looking at him with both concern and... fear? "Sorry, All Might, I was just thinking."

"No need to be sorry. This is probably scary for you," All Might replied. He was slightly shaken from seeing Midoriya like this, but he would have to think about that later. His successor had just been rescued from the man responsible for all that death and destruction.

All Might got up and Midoriya swung his legs around and off the hospital bed so that he could sit next to him. All Might sat next to Midoriya and put his arm around him.

"How are you? Really?" All Might asked.

Midoriya wasn't sure what to say.

"I don't remember what happened yet. I'm tired and my head hurts. I think I have a migraine," Midoriya paused briefly, "I suppose I'm scared. Is my hair really white?"

All Might nodded. This was certainly a scary thing. He couldn't imagine how Midoriya must be feeling. He knew what he was like though, and he'd get carried away in his thoughts quickly.

"So what did Dr. Garaki do to me?"

"I don't know, my boy. The doctors are running various tests and they haven't found anything yet. I suppose you can take this info one of two ways. They'll be testing for all the serious things first, so if they haven't found anything yet, it could be a good thing. But we may not know what he did to you for a while," All Might reasoned. He was trying his best to comfort Midoriya. But it was certainly difficult when he looked frighteningly similar to the murderer, AFO.

They sat in silence for a short while. Midoriya continued to think and theorise. All Might would expect nothing less.

He decided to call Gran Torino. While he imagined his reaction to the teen's appearance would not be particularly pleasant, he may be able to help in some way. All Might doubted he'd be able to help in all honesty, but his presence would be more than welcome. And he suspected Midoriya would be happy to see him anyway.

"I'm just going to make a quick phone call, ok?" All Might said and stood up.

"Yeah, ok," Midoriya smiled at him as best he could.

He wasn't sure how to react to the situation. He'd been kidnapped by none other than the infamous Dr. Garaki, who he'd discovered just days earlier was his quirk doctor as a child, and he couldn't remember anything from the time he'd been captured. Not only that but now he was worried that Dr. Garaki had done something to him. And all he could do was wait. Midoriya wanted someone to comfort him right now.

Wait. Where's his mum? Surely she would come and see her son after he'd just been kidnapped and then saved. Was she ok?

"Hey, All Might?" he called before All Might left the room, "where's my mum? Is she alright?"

Ah. Yes. All Might figured that would come up sooner or later.

"I'm sorry, young Midoriya. I was against it, but there wasn't a lot I could do. The heroes were told to keep quiet about the situation. Your mum doesn't know you were captured in the first place," All Might told him.

What?! How could she not know?

"Who told you to do this? And why? I think she would want to know," Midoriya asked, slightly annoyed.

"Yes, I imagine she would. But the hero commission instructed us not to say anything to the public. And that included your mother."

The hero commission. That sounded about right. Midoriya assumed someone would be coming to tell him to keep quiet about it too. He imagined that they were behind him going to speak with Dr. Garaki in the first place, and they didn't want that getting out. He couldn't say that his previous experiences with them were good either. You couldn't call them interactions, because the hero commission was always hidden. Out of sight. Out of the fighting. Out of harm's way.

Midoriya knew he probably shouldn't think these things about the hero commission. In a way, he'd be following their orders one way or another in the future.

All Might exited the room.

Midoriya debated calling his mum before they came to speak with him but a doctor came in. Midoriya turned around.

"I'm sorry to say that so far we've had no results from any tests. I think we should start looking into other things. I'll need a blood sample first if that's alright with you," the doctor said, walking around the bed.

This was going to take some time, was all Midoriya could think. But the sooner he found out what the man had done to him, the better.
