The next morning, the air was thick with anticipation as I walked into the studio.
The echoes of last night's confrontation still lingered, but today felt different. It felt like the dawn of a new era.
The studio was abuzz with activity, everyone preparing for the upcoming band competition—Sonic Showdown.
It was one of the most prestigious music competitions, and securing a spot was a huge deal.As I entered, I saw Aizawa sitting at a desk, pouring over a stack of papers. He looked up and gave me a nod, signaling me to come over.
"Morning, Aizawa," I greeted him, trying to keep my voice steady. The events of yesterday were still fresh in my mind, and I couldn't shake off the nerves.
"Morning, Midoriya," he replied, his tone calm as always. "I wanted to talk to you about something important."
I took a seat across from him, my heart pounding in my chest. "What's up?"
Aizawa leaned back in his chair, his expression serious. "I've decided to take on the role of manager for the entire band, not just you."
I blinked in surprise. "Really? But why?"
He sighed, rubbing his temples. "Yesterday made me realize something. You all need someone who understands you, someone who can guide you and support you in a way that aligns with your vision. All Might may have been a great idol, but he doesn't understand what you and your bandmates are trying to achieve. I do."
I felt a surge of gratitude and relief wash over me. "Thank you, Aizawa. This means a lot to me...to all of us."
He nodded, his expression softening. "There's more. I've finalized your spot in Sonic Showdown. The competition starts in two weeks, and it's going to be intense. You need to be prepared."
My eyes widened in shock and excitement. "We're really in? This is huge!"
Aizawa allowed himself a small smile. "Yes, you're in. But it won't be easy. Sonic Showdown is one of the toughest competitions out there. You'll be up against some of the best bands in the country. You need to bring your A-game."
I nodded eagerly. "We will. I promise."
As I stood up to head back to the practice room, Aizawa called after me. "Midoriya, remember what we talked about yesterday. Be true to yourself and your music. That's what will set you apart."
"I will, Aizawa. Thank you," I replied, feeling a newfound determination.
When I returned to the practice room, my bandmates were huddled together, talking excitedly. Bakugo looked up as I entered, his eyes narrowing. "What did Aizawa want?"
I couldn't contain my excitement. "He's going to be our manager. And...we're in Sonic Showdown!"
The room erupted into cheers and high-fives. Kami, Mina, Kiri, and even Bakugo couldn't hide their excitement. This was the opportunity we had been waiting for.
"That's amazing, MidoBro!" Kiri exclaimed, pulling me into a bear hug. "We're gonna crush it!"
"Yeah, about time someone recognized our talent," Bakugo muttered, though I could see the hint of a smile on his face.
"We need to start practicing hard," Mina said, her eyes sparkling with determination. "We have to be at our best for this."
Kami nodded in agreement. "And we need to come up with a killer setlist. Something that shows off our range and style."
I smiled at my friends, feeling a deep sense of camaraderie. We were in this together, and we were going to give it our all.
The next two weeks were a blur of rehearsals, brainstorming sessions, and late-night practice runs. Aizawa was there every step of the way, guiding us and offering invaluable advice. He had a knack for understanding our strengths and weaknesses, pushing us to be better while respecting our individuality.
One evening, as we were wrapping up a particularly grueling practice session, Aizawa gathered us around.
"I've been watching you all closely," he began, his gaze serious. "And I have to say, I'm impressed. You've all grown so much in such a short time. But we still have a long way to go."
"We're ready for anything," I said, feeling a surge of confidence. "We've got this."
Aizawa nodded. "I believe in you. But remember, this competition isn't just about winning. It's about showing the world who you are and what you stand for. Stay true to yourselves, and you'll succeed."
He paused, letting his words sink in. "But I need to be clear about something. Midnight Harmony has a target on their back because of you, Midoriya. You're not just the lead singer; you're the number one idol in the country. That makes you a huge draw, but it also makes you a target."
I frowned, taken aback. "A target? How so?"
Aizawa's expression hardened slightly. "You're going to face a lot of scrutiny and criticism. Some people will try to undermine you, hoping to bring you down or discredit the band. They see your success as a threat, and they'll do everything they can to use it against you."
Bakugo scowled. "So what? We'll just prove them wrong."
Aizawa nodded approvingly. "Exactly. But it's important that you stay focused and don't let the pressure get to you. Use it as motivation to push yourself further."
I looked at my bandmates, seeing their determination reflected in their eyes. "We're ready for this. We've come this far, and we're not backing down now."
Aizawa's gaze softened as he looked at us. "Good. I'm here to make sure you have everything you need to succeed. Let's get through this competition and show everyone what Midnight Harmony is really about."
