I can't do it

I just noticed that I completely forgot about what time of day it was in the last few chapters, so they went to the park in the morning and then it was suddenly evening when they got home 😅 oops.
Sorry about that.
Back to the story....

It had been almost a month since Elli came to stay with the Deluca-Bishops.
Carol, Ellis social worker had come over to check on them a couple of times, her unpleasant demeanour never changing.
The girl had not gone back to school because the summer break had just started.

Elora slept in her bed most nights and was really trying to be a good girl and eat what Carina put on the table.
But it was hard.
She wasn't being served more than a healthy eleven year old should be eating but this much food wasn't something she's used to.
Opening up to the women was even harder.
Maya and Carina had both tried several times to talk to Elli about her nightmares but to no avail.

It was early morning, the wives still cozy in bed, Maya on her phone and Carina reading a book.
"Babe?" Maya asked.
"Hmmm?" Carina wasn't paying much attention while reading.
"You said we'd talk about taking in Elli permanently. We never talked about it. Carol is coming over today, maybe we should bring it up."
Carina put the book aside to look at the blonde.
"I think that's a great idea Bella." She grinned.
Maya grinned back and leaned over to kiss her wife.
Things quickly grew heated and they found themselves, on top of each other, making out.
"Hmm Maya?" Carina said between kisses.
"Hmmm?" Maya hummed.
"I think we should get up and ready before the bambina comes in here." She chuckled.
"Come on, please!! I'll be quick." Maya pouted as she slid down lower on Carinas body.
The doctor rolled her eyes but didn't stop the blonde.

An hour later, they were both in the kitchen, Carina preparing breakfast and Maya drinking her every day smoothie while sitting at the kitchen island.

After waking up, Elli walked to the kitchen where Maya and Carina were talking. Just before she entered the room, she heard something she'd rather not have.
„When did Carol say she'd come again?"
Maya asked.
„Around one, I think. Do you really want to tell her today?" Carina answered.
„Yes definitely. I can't wait any longer my love."
Ellis thoughts were going at a hundred miles per hour.
Tell Carol what? Were they going to send her back to her dad?
She tried to contain her panic and slowly walked further into the room.
„Oh, ciao bambina." The Italian greeted with a big smile.
„Good morning sweetheart."
Elora quietly walked over to where Maya was sitting and wrapped her arms around the blonde.
„Hey, what's wrong? Another nightmare?"
She asked as she started to rub the girls back.
Elli just shook her head and hid it in Mayas stomach.
The wife's shared a concern look.
„Tesoro, is it because Carol is coming over today?"
No reply.
"Come up here." Maya said and pulled her foster daughter up onto her lap.
All Elli wanted was to hold on to her foster mother, just in case they were really planning on getting rid of her.
„What's going on Elli?" Maya tried again.
No answer.
„Can you talk to me please?" She pushed.
„I'd rather not." Elli whispered and looked up at the blonde.
„Alright then, here's breakfast." Carina interrupted and set the plates of food onto the table.
Maya got up and to Ellis displeasure, set the girl down onto the floor.
Everyone took their seat and they started eating.
Elli tried to eat as much as possible, she really did. But she was starting to feel sick and eventually stopped eating.
Carina noticed shortly after.
"Bambina, I would like you to finish your plate please. There wasn't much on it to start with."
Elli looked up at her, Carina had a somewhat strict look on her face.
Carina was concerned, if Elli were to continue to eat that little, they will have to go see Arizona.
The women didn't want to overwhelm the girl right from the start, so getting her to eat a healthy amount hadn't been their priority. But now, something needed to change.

To Elli, this look meant that Carina would be angry if she didn't do as told.
She picked up the fork again and picked up another piece of fruit from her plate.
But when she slowly brought it towards her mouth she felt like frowning up right then and there.
She wanted to do as Carina said, but her body didn't.
So she but it back down and slowly shook her head, not darein to look up at the Italian.
Carina sighed.
"Elli, if you don't start eating more, I think we might have to go see Arizona at the hospital."
She said, looking at Maya who gave her a nod.
Ellis eyes shot up in fear. There was nothing she despised more than going to the hospital.
„I'm sorry honey but we need to get a doctors opinion. Carina isn't an expert in this." Maya tried to explain.

Slowly but surely Elli lifted up the fork and put the food into her mouth.
One piece of fruit, then two.
But when she picked up another piece, she felt it all come back up.
She got up, pushing her chair over in the process and ran towards the bathroom where she threw up the contents of her stomach.
Maya rushed to run after her and to hold the girls hair.
"I'm sorry." Elli said while coughing.
"I'm sorry, I tried. I did. I swear!"
"Hey hey, I know. Don't apologise. You're okay."
Maya was speechless.
Did they really just force her to eat to the point of throwing up?
Carina had gotten up but was still standing at the table, just as shocked as her wife. She was ripped out of her thoughts by the blonde yelling.
"Babe, a little help?"
Carina hurried over to the bathroom and got some tissues for Elli to wipe her mouth with.
Maya guided Elli to rest against her and the three of them remained on the floor for a while.
Elli was confused. They didn't seem very mad at all.
"Bambina?" Carina startet speaking while taking the girls hands into her own.
Elli looked up at her, her blue eyes watering slightly.
"I'm so sorry Elli."
Confusion was an understatement.
"You're sorry?" She asked, still not understanding how they weren't punishing her yet.
"We shouldn't have made you eat like that sweetie." Maya said.
Elli decided to accept the situation as it was, despite her confusion.

Then she remembered what Carina had said earlier.
"Do we have to go to the doctor now?"
She asked with a shaky voice.
"Maya and I will be there the whole time and Arizona won't do anything without asking you first. But we do need to get you checked out tesoro."
Carinas expression was soft and kind now. Elli turned her head to see that Maya had the same look on her face.
So she nodded, agreeing to it.
They wanted the best for her after all.

I've kind of lost motivation after the show ended but I'm trying to write a little more again.
