In modern-day Shanghai, the city's skyline is not the only thing that touches the heavens. Hidden among the skyscrapers and bustling streets are beings from different realms and timelines, each with their own fate interwoven by destiny.

The orientation hall was bustling with students from all over China, their excited chatter filling the grand space. Luo Binghe stood near the entrance, his eyes scanning the crowd for one person in particular. He finally spotted Shen Qingqiu, standing aloof by a pillar, flipping through the orientation brochure with an air of indifference.

"Shizun!" Luo Binghe called out, weaving his way through the throng of students to reach him. "I saved a seat for you. It's right in the front."

Shen Qingqiu barely looked up from his brochure. "I'm fine here," he replied coolly, his tone giving nothing away.

Luo Binghe's heart sank a little, but he didn't let it show. He flashed a bright smile, determined to win Shen Qingqiu's approval. "But Shizun, the view is so much better at the front. You can see everything clearly. Wouldn't you prefer that?"

Shen Qingqiu sighed, finally lifting his gaze to meet Luo Binghe's. "Luo Binghe, I appreciate your enthusiasm, but I prefer a quieter spot. The front is too... crowded."

"Oh, I see," Luo Binghe said, trying to hide his disappointment. "I just thought... well, never mind. If you need anything, just let me know, Shizun."

Shen Qingqiu nodded absently, returning to his brochure. Luo Binghe stood there for a moment, unsure of what to do next. His mind raced with ways to get Shen Qingqiu to acknowledge him, to see how much he cared.

"Shizun, did you know there's a welcome speech by the dean in a few minutes? I heard it's really inspiring. Maybe we could listen together?" Luo Binghe suggested, his voice tinged with hope.

Shen Qingqiu glanced at his watch. "I suppose I can stay for that," he said, folding the brochure and tucking it under his arm. "But only for the speech."

Luo Binghe's face lit up. "Great! I'll find us a good spot."

As they made their way through the crowd, Luo Binghe couldn't help but steal glances at Shen Qingqiu. His cold demeanor only made Luo Binghe more determined. He knew there had to be a way to melt that icy exterior.

The dean's speech was as inspiring as promised, but Luo Binghe barely heard a word. His attention was wholly focused on Shen Qingqiu, who stood beside him, listening with polite interest. When the speech ended, the hall erupted in applause.

"Wasn't that great, Shizun?" Luo Binghe asked eagerly.

"It was... satisfactory," Shen Qingqiu replied, his expression neutral.
