In modern-day Shanghai, the city's skyline is not the only thing that touches the heavens. Hidden among the skyscrapers and bustling streets are beings from different realms and timelines, each with their own fate interwoven by destiny.
Shen Qingqiu shut his laptop and put it inside his case, leaning his cheek against the cold window and watching the cars, trees, and anything else pass by. The rhythm of the moving bus and the blur of the outside world created a soothing, almost hypnotic effect. He sighed, lost in thought, as memories of Luo Binghe's earnest eyes and determined expression surfaced in his mind.
"Shizun..." Luo Binghe's voice echoed in his thoughts, causing a small, almost imperceptible smile to touch Shen Qingqiu's lips. Despite his usual stern demeanor, there was a part of him that couldn't help but soften at the thought of his devoted 'disciple'.
Luo Binghe looked out the window- not knowing his 'Shizun' behind him. He sighed, grabbing his cellphone to scroll through some photos of him and his 'Shizun'.
He smiled at the memories flashing through his head–
Shen Qingqiu sat on the couch, his legs crossed and his glasses pulled up onto his nose. In his hands was a book– Proud Immortal Demon Way, of course. Luo Binghe sat on the carpet, his mouth agape as he played his video game.
"Luo Binghe? How long are you going to play with that chunk of garbage?" Shen Qingqiu lifted his head to look over at Luo Binghe.
Luo Binghe immediately shut his game off and got up, "I'm sorry, Shizun. I'm done now."
Shen Qingqiu nodded with a stern expression on his face. "Alright, good. Don't you have to practice your archery?"
Luo Binghe nodded, running up to his room, Shen Qingqiu heard the loud pitter-patter of his feet running up the stairs and chuckled, shaking his head.
Luo Binghe came down with a bow and some training arrows. He set the target up in the backyard and began practicing.
Shen Qingqiu sat on the deck, observing his skills.
When Luo Binghe got a bullseye, he jumped up and down, pointing and smiling. "Shizun! Shizun! Shizun!! Did you see that?! I hit the middle!"
Shen Qingqiu smiled proudly, getting up and patting Luo Binghe on the head, "Well done."
Luo Binghe's head swelling with pride. His smile never leaving his face. "Let me make something yummy to celebrate!"
Shen Qingqiu smiled, "And I'll order some dessert."
Shen Qingqiu sat back down on the deck, watching Luo Binghe as he eagerly headed to the kitchen. The afternoon sun bathed the backyard in a warm glow, and the gentle rustling of leaves created a serene atmosphere. Shen Qingqiu picked up his book again, but his thoughts lingered on his young disciple.
