In modern-day Shanghai, the city's skyline is not the only thing that touches the heavens. Hidden among the skyscrapers and bustling streets are beings from different realms and timelines, each with their own fate interwoven by destiny.
Luo Binghe sat on his bed, his legs swinging restlessly as he gazed at Shen Qingqiu, who was focused on applying medicine to the sting on his arm. Earlier that day, before classes, the pair had visited the campus gardens. Luo Binghe, in a burst of romantic impulse, had tried to pluck a rose to tuck behind Shen Qingqiu's ear. However, his gesture was interrupted when he was suddenly stung by a bee, causing him to yelp and clutch his arm.
Shen Qingqiu, seeing Luo Binghe's discomfort, immediately took him back to their dorm. Determined to care for him, Shen Qingqiu missed his own classes to tend to Luo Binghe's "injury." Now, in the quiet of their dorm room, Shen Qingqiu gently applied an antiseptic to the swollen area, his movements careful and deliberate.
Luo Binghe watched him with a proud, almost smug expression. "Honestly, Shizun, I think it'll heal right up if you gave me a little kiss," he said, his tone half-serious, half-teasing.
Shen Qingqiu sighed and rolled his eyes. "Binghe, that matter is only for lovers."
Luo Binghe's smile faltered slightly, his brows knitting together in confusion. "And are we not lovers?"
Shen Qingqiu shook his head, his expression firm but affectionate. "No, we're not at that stage yet."
Luo Binghe pouted, a hint of disappointment in his eyes, but he remained silent, accepting the gentle treatment. Shen Qingqiu, despite his annoyance at the constant teasing, couldn't help but feel a pang of affection. He finished applying the medicine and then sat back, trying to suppress a smile. "Just be more careful next time. We don't need any more unexpected visits to the infirmary."
Luo Binghe grinned, clearly undeterred. "I'll do my best. But, Shizun, I'm still holding out hope for that kiss."
Shen Qingqiu chuckled softly, shaking his head. "We'll see, Binghe. One step at a time."
Shen Qingqiu adjusted the bandage on Luo Binghe's arm, his fingers brushing lightly against his skin. Despite his words, he felt a warmth in his chest at Luo Binghe's unwavering optimism and affection. He could never stay truly annoyed with him for long.
Luo Binghe leaned back against the headboard, his expression a mix of contentment and mischief. "So, what will you do if I manage to get myself into trouble again? Another 'injury' requiring your attention?"
Shen Qingqiu raised an eyebrow, a smirk tugging at his lips. "If you're not careful, you might find yourself in real trouble. And then it won't just be a bee sting I'll be dealing with."
