In modern-day Shanghai, the city's skyline is not the only thing that touches the heavens. Hidden among the skyscrapers and bustling streets are beings from different realms and timelines, each with their own fate interwoven by destiny.
The six guys sat at the dining table after classes were finished for the day. Wei Wuxian looked confident and determined to say what he wanted.
"We need to start taking turns—it's not fair for Luo Binghe to do dinner every night."
Luo Binghe shook his head and said, "No, no—It's alright, it's no big deal at all." Luo Binghe slowly eyed Shen Qingqiu, taking note of his reaction.
Shen Qingqiu's face remained impassive, though there was a slight twitch at the corner of his mouth that only Luo Binghe seemed to notice. His gaze was steady, almost challenging, as if daring anyone to oppose his unspoken stance.
Wei Wuxian, ever the instigator, pressed on. "Come on, Binghe, it's only fair. We should all pitch in. Lan Zhan, what do you think?"
Lan Wangji, who had been quietly sipping his tea, nodded in agreement. "It is a reasonable suggestion. Sharing the responsibilities will benefit everyone."
Next to Lan Wangji, Hua Cheng smirked. "I don't mind cooking. I can handle it a few nights a week."
Xie Lian smiled warmly at Hua Cheng, then turned to Luo Binghe. "See, Binghe? Everyone wants to help out. You've been carrying too much of the burden."
Luo Binghe's eyes flicked back to Shen Qingqiu, whose expression remained unreadable. There was a flicker of something in Shen Qingqiu's eyes—approval, perhaps, or maybe just calculation.
"I really don't mind," Luo Binghe insisted, though his voice was softer now, less certain.
Wei Wuxian leaned forward, his tone coaxing. "We know you don't, but it's not about that. It's about fairness and making sure you're not overworked. We all have busy schedules."
Shen Qingqiu finally spoke, his voice smooth and calm. "Luo Binghe, it's important to let others contribute. It fosters a sense of community and shared responsibility."
Luo Binghe hesitated, but the combined pressure from his friends and the subtle nod of approval from Shen Qingqiu made him relent. "Alright," he conceded. "We can take turns. But if anyone needs help, I'm always here."
Wei Wuxian grinned triumphantly. "Great! Let's make a schedule then. Lan Zhan can take Tuesdays, I'll take Thursdays. Hua Cheng– you're on Mondays and Xie Lian, how about Wednesdays?"
Hua Cheng nodded. "Works for us."
Everyone nodded in agreement.
"Then Shen Qingqiu, you're on Sundays Luo Binghe can take Fridays," Wei Wuxian continued, casting a meaningful glance at Shen Qingqiu.
